Royal Garden Plaza

4.2(7,638 reviews)

Come for the air conditioning and Ripley's Believe It or Not, not for the shopping. This is the first mall you hit walking along Pattaya Beach, and that position does most of the work: you stumble in sweaty, there's a Tops and a Starbucks more or less at the door, and suddenly the afternoon has a shape.

The retail itself is mainstream. International chains, footwear, fashion, a supermarket for whatever your hotel room lacks. Some people walk through and find it small and quiet, and they're not wrong. What lifts it is the entertainment side, particularly the horror-themed upper floor, which families and teenagers get more out of than they expect. The restaurants spread over several levels and cover plenty of cuisines, and the upper floors give you a view worth a few minutes. If you want boutiques or bargaining, go elsewhere.

My advice: treat it as a break rather than a destination. An hour of browsing, a coffee, then back out to the beach in the late afternoon when the heat drops.

Reviews from Google

I had a fantastic experience at Royal Garden Plaza in Pattaya! The mall offers a great mix of shopping, dining, and entertainment, making it a perfect destination for both locals and tourists. The atmosphere is vibrant and well-maintained, with friendly staff everywhere. I particularly enjoyed the wide variety of international restaurants and the beautiful views from the upper levels. The shopping options are also top-notch, with both well-known brands and unique local boutiques. If you’re in Pattaya, this place is definitely worth a visit for a fun, relaxing time!

This mall is absolutely beautiful! It has everything—delicious food, a full grocery, great shopping, shoes, and more. Plus, it features amazing entertainment like Ripley's Believe It or Not, just like in Pattaya. A perfect place to relax and enjoy your day!

Small, quiet mall. Nothing special there. Just nice.

Tips for Visiting Markets & Shopping

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls

Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.

Arrive Early or Late

Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.

Be Cautious with Tailors

Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
