About Royal Kamala
Situated in the Kamala area of Phuket, Royal Kamala is a residential-style condominium complex catering to travelers seeking a longer, more settled stay rather than a typical hotel experience. The property suits guests who prefer a quieter, home-like environment, with standout features including private pool access for certain units and a peaceful setting away from the noise of the main streets.
Guests consistently highlight the attentive management team, who are noted for being responsive, helpful, and personally welcoming — going so far as to acknowledge birthdays and personal occasions. The atmosphere is calm and residential, making it well suited to extended stays of several weeks. The location places guests within easy reach of local food outlets, though a vehicle or transport is advisable for reaching the beach and wider Phuket attractions.

This is a quiet and cozy place, away from the noise of the streets. The manager and administrator are very nice, always ready to help, personally congratulating on birthdays and other holidays. We lived here for a year and we liked everything very much, the price for accommodation is reasonable, the rooms are spacious. If I ever find myself in Thailand, I will definitely try to stay here.
We spent three weeks here. A long time for sure. Fabien was responsive and helpful. But there were some things that made me take a stra away. When you're living just a couple of days, these things would surely not be problem. But on a long term stay, small things become annoying and it also doesn't feel noce to constantly bother the administration with little issues. So I would suggest that they look into the smaller details, fix them and certainly it will become a five star place. For example, we had the apartment with a rooftop pool. In our second week, the pool's pH didnt feel right anymore. We did highlight this, but were told that the pool people only came on certain days. Ok, so we wait. But it was never resolved. So even though we had a private pool at our diposal, we couldn't use it anymore. Just one of the things. Not the biggest problem, but these things should be resolved. Otherwise, it was pleasant, comfortable, quiet stay. Good neighbors. Good surroundings. Felt safe. Recommended 👍👍
This place could have been very good but there are simply too many CATS ! We were woken twice each night by Cats fighting and screaming in the night . There were parts of the garden and near the pool that the cats used as a toilet and it smelled so bad we were nearly sick. I dont know why the Management allow the staff to ( barely) take care of so many Cats , so I cant recommend this hotel . ADDIT . My close friend stayed here in Dec '24 and said that the people staying there long term had reported the staff had made a big effort to clean out all the cats a year before which is to be commended. However some did report cat fights again and say cats were starting to return.

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
Location Matters More Than Stars
A well-located 3-star hotel often beats a remote 5-star resort. In Bangkok, staying near a BTS or MRT station saves hours; on islands, proximity to the beach you actually want matters most.
