Moonstone Samui
Moonstone Samui is a private villa property set in the Bophut area of Koh Samui, offering direct sea access and sweeping views that guests consistently describe as breathtaking, particularly at sunset. The location strikes a balance between seclusion and convenience, sitting close to the airport while remaining removed from the island's busier tourist zones. The property operates with a notably personal style of hospitality. A dedicated on-site team, led by a manager known to guests as Khun A, handles everything from daily service to bespoke arrangements such as cooking classes, yoga sessions, and excursions to nearby attractions like elephant sanctuaries. Spacious, private bedrooms and generous communal areas including a large pool make the property well suited to group travel, family stays, and milestone celebrations. An in-house chef prepares meals each evening, adding to the self-contained, resort-like atmosphere that sets it apart from standard hotel accommodation. Good to know: Moonstone Samui appears to function as a bookable villa rather than a traditional hotel with nightly room availability, making it particularly suitable for groups or families travelling together. Prospective guests should visit moonstonesamui.com directly to confirm availability and booking arrangements. Koh Samui's dry season runs from December to February, offering the calmest seas and most reliable sunshine, though the Bophut location on the island's north coast tends to remain relatively sheltered compared to other shores during the wetter months.

Visitor Reviews
Moonstone was the perfect relaxing getaway. Khun A is an absolute delight, always greeting you with a warm smile. The whole team was delightful, especially the chef, who made incredible meals every night. We were able to do a super fun cooking class with chef, Khun arranged the most amazing elephant sanctuary trip for us, and we were able to enjoy delicious cocktails by the pool, daily. The entire team was so special and kind, and the villa itself was stunning. Beautiful views of the sunset outside, and super comfy rooms, with full jacuzzi tubs in each main bedroom! We were also able to enjoy some local markets and even a capybara cafe - so amazing!! I highly recommend Moonstone to anyone looking for a relaxing tropical getaway, focused around relaxation and enjoying the beautiful nature and culture of Thailand. We will miss Khun and the whole team dearly, we are so grateful for their hospitality ❤️
We had a fantastic stay at this villa with direct sea access and a beautiful view. The sunsets were truly stunning, and the location felt very private while still being conveniently close to the airport. The villa was extremely clean and very comfortable. The infinity pool was a real highlight and perfect for relaxing. The food was excellent throughout our stay — every meal was freshly prepared and consistently very good. The staff were polite, professional, and always available when needed, with a great cook who made the experience even better. Overall, it was a very relaxing and wonderful stay.
We celebrated my husbands 50th birthday with family and friends. The Khun amazing manager and satisfied all our request, even when we did it too late. We did cooking classes, yoga, elephant sanctuary, markets, scooter rentals, cars for our big group, boat rental to visit pig islands. The cooking was so great, we didn’t want to leave the villa. Dishes was always different. As we had kids , Shef always made sure few dishes was prepared for them.
Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
