Secret Corner Boutique Hostel
Secret Corner Boutique Hostel is a relatively new addition to Chiang Rai's accommodation scene, quickly earning a strong reputation among travellers for its cleanliness, thoughtful design, and welcoming atmosphere. Located in Tambon Wiang, the hostel sits within reach of Chiang Rai's key attractions, making it a practical base for exploring the region's famous temples and night markets. Guests consistently highlight the modern, cosy interiors and the attention to detail throughout the property. Dormitory beds are noted for being genuinely comfortable, bathrooms are kept to a high standard of cleanliness, and there is adequate storage space and charging points for each guest. The overall atmosphere is quiet and relaxed rather than party-focused, which appeals to travellers looking for a restful stay without sacrificing a social environment. The hostel's layout feels considered and well-planned, offering clean communal spaces alongside private sleeping areas. For those planning a visit, it is worth checking the official website at secretcornerhostel.com for current availability and room types, as the hostel's growing popularity means beds can fill up quickly, particularly during the cooler high season months between November and February when Chiang Rai sees the most visitors. As a hostel rather than a full-service hotel, guests should expect a self-sufficient style of stay, though the property's well-maintained facilities and attentive housekeeping staff make the experience notably comfortable for the price point.

An Absolutely Perfect Stay ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently spent a night at Secret Corner Boutique Hostel and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everything about this place exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the thoughtful design and attention to detail throughout the hostel. The common areas are beautifully designed and invite you to relax and socialize. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed—it felt more like a boutique hotel than a typical hostel, which was a wonderful surprise. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome right away. They were knowledgeable about the area and eager to help with recommendations. The facilities were top-notch, and everything was impeccably maintained. Whether it was the comfortable bedding, the pleasant atmosphere, or the overall vibe of the place, every detail contributed to making my stay memorable. This is the kind of hostel that restores your faith in the budget accommodation experience. If you’re looking for a place to stay that combines comfort, style, and genuine hospitality, I can’t recommend Secret Corner Boutique Hostel highly enough. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Secret Corner is easily the best hostel in Chiang Rai- I loved it so much I extended my stay! The hostel is brand new, extremely clean, quiet, and comfortable, and everything feels thoughtfully designed. The highlight is the new rooftop, which has plenty of room to relax and unwind at the end of the day. It quickly became my favorite place to spend evenings in Chiang Rai — calm, cozy, and a great atmosphere to meet other travelers without feeling loud or crowded. The rooms and common areas are spotless, the beds are comfortable, and the overall vibe is peaceful while still being social. If you’re looking for a hostel in Chiang Rai that’s quiet, modern, and welcoming — especially for solo travelers or digital nomads — this place is perfect. Highly recommend staying here.
I knew I chose the right place to stay when I walked in and saw the Christmas tree! it just set the tone for a happy stay in a fantastic new hostel. When searching online, I liked the pictures and the fact that it was new. It didn't disappoint! The clean dorms were comfortable and cozy. i liked that we could choose all female or mixed accommodations. The location was convenient to the bus station for our arrival and having a washing machine available was a super nice perk. The staff was super friendly and seemed genuinely happy to have us stay there. We saw pictures of the rooftop area which looked really cool but didn't get to see it because it's opening after our visit. I highly recommend this place for your stay in Chiang Rai!
Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
