Love Strawberry Pai

4.0(1,221 reviews)

Situated in the Thung Yao area outside Pai, this working strawberry farm serves as a pleasant roadside stop for travellers making their way along the Mae Hong Son loop. The grounds are well maintained and offer views of the surrounding mountains, giving the place a relaxed rural character that suits families and those with an interest in agritourism. Strawberry picking is the central activity, though the overall experience is relatively low-key rather than a structured tour.

The on-site café tends to be the highlight for many visitors, drawing consistent praise for its local food, strawberry shakes, and broad menu of drinks and dishes. Freshly made strawberry jam and locally grown coffee beans are also available to purchase. Most visitors find it works best as a casual stop of 15 to 30 minutes, though those who stay for a meal often linger considerably longer.

Best food in Thailand! Pulled over to check it out and so glad we stayed for lunch. Every dish we ordered was amazing! Even bought strawberry jam and coffee beans. Can't recommend enough while in Pai 🍓♥️

cute place, food was amazing. lots of variety of food and drinks. 🍓defo recommend as a good stop off.

I already had a suspicion when I saw there wasn't a single strawberry in the strawberry field that the shake wouldn't be good. However, I'd seen and eaten so many delicious fresh strawberries on The Walking Street that I assumed they'd have a similar supply. Even though I forgot to ask them not to add any sugar to my shake, it was probably the worst strawberry shake ever. It simply tasted like nothing. Completely overpriced (almost twice as expensive as everywhere else) but practically tasteless. I wouldn't recommend it. The place itself is very touristy with lots of large plastic strawberries, etc. It might be worth a short detour for a quick photo session. For the most part, it's basically a souvenir shop, in my opinion. And they even have the nerve to charge for the toilets, even though there's no toilet paper in them.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
