Love Strawberry Pai

4.0(1,204 reviews)

Situated in the Thung Yao area outside Pai, this working strawberry farm doubles as a pleasant roadside stop for travellers exploring the Mae Hong Son loop. The grounds are well maintained and offer views of the surrounding mountains, making it a scenic place to pause during a drive. Beyond the strawberry fields, the on-site café is a genuine highlight — visitors regularly praise the local food, strawberry shakes, and a varied menu of drinks and dishes, with some rating the food among the best they found in Pai. The farm experience itself is relatively low-key. Strawberry picking is the central activity, and the property carries a relaxed rural atmosphere that appeals to families and agritourism enthusiasts. Freshly made produce such as strawberry jam and locally grown coffee beans are available to purchase. Reviewers note it works particularly well as a casual stop rather than a dedicated half-day excursion — those with limited time can easily spend 15 to 30 minutes exploring the grounds, while others linger longer over a meal. Good to know: Strawberry season in northern Thailand typically runs from November to February, so visiting during these months offers the best chance of finding fruit in the fields. Outside of peak season, the café remains the main draw. Opening hours are not reliably published online, so it is worth checking with local accommodation before making a special trip. Comfortable shoes are recommended if you plan to walk the farm grounds.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide

These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
