Love Strawberry Pai
Situated in the Thung Yao area outside Pai, this working strawberry farm serves as a pleasant roadside stop for travellers making their way along the Mae Hong Son loop. The grounds are well maintained and offer views of the surrounding mountains, giving the place a relaxed rural character that suits families and those with an interest in agritourism. Strawberry picking is the central activity, though the overall experience is relatively low-key rather than a structured tour. The on-site café tends to be the highlight for many visitors, drawing consistent praise for its local food, strawberry shakes, and broad menu of drinks and dishes. Freshly made strawberry jam and locally grown coffee beans are also available to purchase. Most visitors find it works best as a casual stop of 15 to 30 minutes, though those who stay for a meal often linger considerably longer. Good to know: Strawberry season in northern Thailand typically runs from November to February, and visiting during these months offers the best chance of finding fruit in the fields. Outside of this window, the café remains the main draw, though at least one visitor has noted arriving to find the fields bare — worth keeping in mind if picking is the priority. Opening hours are not reliably published online, so checking with local accommodation before making a dedicated trip is advisable. Comfortable footwear is recommended for walking the farm grounds.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
