Love Elephant Sanctuary Krabi
Situated in central Krabi, this sanctuary operates as a travel agency and tour provider specialising in responsible elephant encounters. All elephants on site are rescued animals, and the sanctuary's approach centres on their welfare rather than performance — visitors observe and participate in the elephants' natural daily routines rather than watching shows or riding. The combination of knowledgeable, attentive staff and a genuinely care-focused environment has made it a standout experience among visitors to the region. Tour options include a shorter half-hour feeding experience as well as longer half-day visits of around three hours, with hotel transfers available. Activities typically involve feeding the elephants with prepared food, learning about each animal's rescue story, and spending time with them in their natural habitat. Group sizes are kept small — visitors report being among roughly four elephants per group — which allows for an intimate and unhurried experience. Guides are praised for their warmth, knowledge, and evident affection for the animals. Good to know: The sanctuary operates on a booking basis rather than walk-in visits, so reserving a spot in advance is strongly recommended. Hotel transfers are available, making it a convenient day trip from Krabi's beaches and resorts. Wear comfortable, waterproof clothing and closed-toe shoes, as feeding and bathing activities can get muddy. Contact the sanctuary directly to confirm current tour schedules, available time slots, and what is included in each package before arrival.

Visitor Reviews
We found the most respectful and loving environment for the elephants and the most beautiful and touching experience for us! The staff is amazing and friendly, they treated us respectfully and acted very kindly towards the elephants. We were scared of the elephants at first, being such bug animals, but her expertise and passion made us gain confidence and love these beautiful giants. She told us the story of the place and how she started rescuing elephants from exploitation. The elephants are happy and relaxed and they have a lot of space to swim and be free, also space in the jungle that is dedicated to them and private, meaning that no one goes there exept the elephants. The tours are organized based on the elephants’ needs instead of touristic exploitation, you can only meet and feed them during their eating times! We hope more people can help this beautiful mission, instead of spending money on riding and places that mistreat these animals. We loved this freedom approach and the passion of the workers and especially of the owner!! Super recommended to everyone!!!! PS they also took beatiful puctures of us feeding the elephants, thank you for that:)
Lovely 3 hours spent with these gentle giants. All rescued from various situations & now looking like they are living a good life - after a short briefing, we got to feed the elephants with ready prepared food, then were hands on when making supplement “food balls”, taking a mud bath with them & helped with a rinse off at the end! Never felt we were rushed - plenty of time to observe, interact & take photos. Recommend this activity! 👍🏼😁
We did the half an hour feeding tour with transfers from our hotel lobby and back. 100% recommended this experience to anyone. I love that it was compact but very wholesome and the number 1 priority is the elephants well being over making the tourists happy. We had such a lovely time feeding the elephants and would definitely go back. The snack provided at the end was very refreshing.
Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
