Jungle Kitchen

5.0(356 reviews)

Set on a working farm in Koh Samui's interior, Jungle Kitchen offers an evening cooking class experience that takes guests from garden to table. Hosts Tom and Lin lead visitors on a tour of the property, where fresh herbs and ingredients are grown on-site, before guiding them through the preparation of traditional Thai dishes such as duck salad and Pad Thai. The elevated setting above Chaweng provides scenic views, and the intimate, farm-based atmosphere sets it apart from conventional cooking schools and tourist dining experiences.

Guests can expect a relaxed and welcoming environment where instructors explain techniques clearly, making the class accessible to cooks of all experience levels. The use of farm-fresh ingredients is a consistent highlight, and wine is available for an additional cost to enjoy alongside cooking. The experience concludes with guests dining on the dishes they have prepared, making it a practical and social way to spend an evening.

Jungle Kitchen operates every day of the week from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, fitting naturally into evening plans. Advance booking through junglekitchensamui.com is strongly recommended, as the intimate format means group sizes are limited. Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes are practical given the farm and jungle setting. The address is 151, 68 Moo 1 Soi Khao Phra, Bo Put, and visitors arriving by scooter or taxi should allow time for navigation in the island's interior.

We had the best time with Tom and Lin! The garden tour is a great intro, and the ingredients from their farm are so fresh and tasty. We drank some lovely wine (extra cost) as we cooked duck salad, Pad Thai and yellow curry in the outdoor kitchen, and enjoyed good conversation from both the hosts and other guests. For a relaxed cooking experience with good company, great music, a gorgeous view and surrounds, don’t hesitate to book at Jungle Kitchen!

We had such a wonderful experience at this Thai cooking class! From the very beginning, the hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming, and passionate about what they do. We especially loved the garden tour – it was beautiful, informative, and gave us a real appreciation for the fresh ingredients we were about to use. The setting itself was stunning, with a lovely view that made the whole evening feel even more special. The food was absolutely amazing. Every dish turned out delicious, and the Pad Thai was, without exaggeration, the best we’ve had so far! It was perfectly balanced and full of flavor. Overall, it was such a lovely evening with great atmosphere, great people, and incredible food. 🥘 ✨

I joined the Thai Cooking Class at Jungle Club Koh Samui and it was truly amazing. The relaxed atmosphere high above Chaweng with breathtaking views made cooking feel special. The chefs explained each step patiently – from choosing fresh ingredients to preparing classics like Pad Thai and curry. I felt like I was in a private cooking school thanks to the personal attention. The highlight was sharing the meal at the end, with time flying by. I’m taking home not only recipes but also little tricks for my own kitchen. For me, it was an experience that combined culinary joy with spectacular scenery.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
