Why go, and how to do it well
Muay Thai Fever is the gym members of Chiang Mai's DTV visa and expat Facebook groups recommend most often, and the NOW Muay Thai Chiang Mai list includes it too. It trains out of the Almag Sports Complex on Khan Road in Suthep, on the city's west side, in a clean modern space that also has a cage for its MMA sessions.
The gym's site lists group classes from ฿400 and private lessons from ฿700, and names Lumpinee and Thailand title belts among its coaches. It's set up for long stays on the Destination Thailand Visa. It sends an application pack and, once you've paid for training, the invitation letter for your embassy, and you'll need to show ฿500,000 in funds to apply.
