Siam Home Cooking Class
Tucked away in the Su Thep area of Chiang Mai, this small-group cooking experience is led by Nancy, a passionate and knowledgeable instructor who has built a loyal following among both first-time visitors and returning guests. The class begins with a visit to a local market, where Nancy walks participants through the essentials of Thai herbs, flavours, and fresh ingredients before heading back to cook together in a relaxed, home-style setting. What sets this experience apart from larger cooking schools is its intimate scale. Classes are typically held in very small groups, and private sessions are common, giving participants a more personal and unhurried learning environment. Dishes are well-explained throughout, and the atmosphere is consistently described as warm and welcoming. The focus is on authentic home-style Thai cooking rather than a commercial or tourist-oriented format. Good to know: the class includes a hotel pickup service, making it straightforward to arrange from most central Chiang Mai accommodation. Given the small group sizes, booking in advance is strongly recommended, particularly during peak travel season. The experience suits a wide range of cooking abilities, with no prior kitchen experience required.

Visitor Reviews
I recently had the pleasure of attending a cooking class with Nancy, and it was an incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, Nancy created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made everyone feel comfortable. Her passion for cooking is truly infectious, and she skillfully guided us through each step of the recipes. The dishes we prepared were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Nancy shared valuable tips and techniques that I am excited to take back to my own kitchen. What I appreciated most was her ability to cater to all skill levels, ensuring that everyone in the class was engaged and learning something new. The interactive nature of the class allowed for a great exchange of ideas and creativity among participants. Overall, this cooking class was an amazing experience, and I can’t wait to attend another session with Nancy. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their culinary skills while having a great time!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a wonderful day at Siam Home Cooking Class! We were picked up from our hotel by Nancy and taken to the local markets, where she shared her knowledge of Thai herbs and flavours, such an authentic experience. Back at the kitchen, we each chose 5 dishes to learn: Coconut Chicken Soup, Papaya Salad, Drunken Noodles, Jungle Curry, and my absolute favourite, Banana in Coconut Milk Syrup. We may have gotten a little carried away with the number of chillies in the Jungle Curry...let’s just say we well and truly blew our heads off - and loved every bite! I couldn’t believe how simple the recipes were, yet so incredibly delicious. After cooking each dish, we sat down to enjoy them, then Nacy was so kind to drop us off at the night markets to end a perfect evening of cooking, laughter, and authentic Thai flavours. Highly recommend! 🙏
This is the second year I have come to Nancy's cooking school. In contrast to other schools, it is a small, informal place where cooking is usually done in very small groups or in individual lessons. Nancy is a gifted cook with a big heart. I'm already looking forward to the next time.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
