Samaya Yoga

5.0(25 reviews)

If you've been putting off yoga because you can't touch your toes, this is where I'd start. Classes run on the roof of the Samaya resort in Maret, open to the greenery and the sea, and the teaching leans gentle: breathwork first, then asanas built up slowly rather than thrown at you. Hatha, Vinyasa and Qigong are all on the schedule, and reviewers who arrived stiff talk about feeling the difference by the end of a single session. Mats and blocks are provided, so you can turn up with nothing.

More experienced practitioners won't be bored, but be clear about what this is. It's a calm, small studio inside a resort garden full of flowers and mature planting, not a hot, hard, sweat-through-your-shirt sort of place. Morning slots are the pick, before the heat builds. There are occasional events and masterclasses too, worth asking about if you're on the island a while.

I visited yoga with for beginners and I’m in love with it. We started with some breath work, which is good and helps you to connect with your mind. All asanas are so gentle! So if you’re not flexible like me, you’ll feel the difference after the class. Don’t worry if you’re more advanced, you gonna enjoy it anyways.

I love that place! Classes and teachers are nice and professional 🙏🏻❤️ I go to yoga and qigong classes. In fact the whole Samaya resort is great! Lots of flowers and greens. Very natural 🍀 They also have beautiful events and master classes. Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you for gentle yoga with an experienced teacher. For beginners, this is a good opportunity to start practicing yoga in a harmonious atmosphere on the roof of the building! I recommend 🙏

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas

Learn Wat Pho First

Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.

Communicate Pressure Preferences

Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.

Book Longer Sessions

A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
