Book your boat here rather than at a hotel desk or online, and you'll pay a lot less for the same day out. Travelers report around 2,000 baht for a private boat to Pig Island, arranged directly with the small operators working off the pier. Three-island tours with lunch run too, and the usual advice is to turn up around 9.30am, pay, and get on the first boat out at 10am.
The pier itself is plain. It's a departure point, not a sight, and I wouldn't come all the way down to Samui's southern coast just to stand on it. What redeems the spot is everything around it, with small cafés and restaurants along the waterfront with a proper sea view, fishing boats coming and going, and a slow, local pace that the resort strips further north lost years ago. There's a quiet beach nearby, better for sitting than swimming. Snorkeling stops on the tours are hit and miss, so treat them as a bonus rather than the reason you're going.

Great for tours. Just go the small pier and book directly your tour at the small club there. It's much cheaper than tourist office or online and you get your private boat. We paid 2000 baht to the pig island on our own boat.
Boats to islands are brilliant, restaurants are very good. Pig island id an absolute must, Take local fishing boats from here to islands. 👌
There's a nice, quiet beach near here. But usually just for chilling at the beach, but apparently, seen the lack of people swimming, it's not really a great spot to swim.
