Sook Sook Pochana
Grilled river prawns are what most people come to Hua Hin 45 for, and when they land right they're juicy and fresh. The softshell crab with chilli garlic gets praise too, and the spicy beef soup holds up. The prawns fried with fish sauce, though, is one I'd skip based on what diners say. Portions are large, so a group of four ordering four dishes will be fine.
Expectations are the tricky part here. This place has been talked up online, and some diners walk in primed for something extraordinary and come out saying the food was pleasant but not worth the price. A few flavours lean sweet. Come for a good seafood dinner rather than a revelation and you'll enjoy it more. The room is clean and comfortable, service is professional, and it works well for families or a group table. Finish with the lod chong in coconut milk.

Reviews from Google
Food is good but a menu like grilled prawn is still not wow. It lacks the sweetness of the prawn like when u clean the prawn in clean water before cooking it. Otherwise, everything is good!!
The food was okay, though not entirely to my taste. A few dishes were slightly on the sweet side. I admire the attempt to create something distinctive, but some flavor combinations didn’t quite land for me. Though the lod chong in coconut milk was absolutely delicious! Nice atmosphere and seatings, suitable for a group or family.
I had high expectations based on reviews.. but sadly sook sook failed to impress. The softshell crab with chilli garlic was excellent. The spicy beef soup was quite good. The other signature menu, prawns fried with fish sauce, we would skip. Portions are large here. Allow me to warn you that they charge 5% additional credit card fee - thats the highest I’ve seen in Thailand. They even mark up on credit card, and without any advance notice anywhere.

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
