Song Wat Coffee Roasters is the coffee stop on Song Wat Road, Chinatown's old riverside trading street. The roastery café moved in 2024 into two larger shophouses on a lane off the road, keeping the old timber and plaster, and split its counter in two, a speed bar for espresso drinks and a slow bar for filter coffee brewed to order. Beans are roasted on site and sold by the bag.
The house drinks are worth trying. The Dirty is espresso over milk frozen into ice flakes at ฿150, and the Song Wat Latte is ฿140, with canelés at about ฿90 and other pastries to go with them, prices from 2024. Budget around ฿150 to ฿300 a person.
It opens at 09:00 and closes at 17:00 on weekdays and 18:00 at weekends. Seats are limited and it fills by late morning. MRT Wat Mangkon is a straight walk away, and the rest of Song Wat, the riverside cafés and the lanes of Talat Noi are all within 10 minutes on foot.
