Rhythm social bar
Tucked away on Thanon Tilok Utis in Phuket Old Town, this social bar has built a strong following among locals and travellers alike for its genuine, unhurried atmosphere — a welcome contrast to the more tourist-facing venues along the main heritage streets. The vintage décor, rotating live music, and occasional DJ sets create a convivial setting that feels rooted in the local scene rather than curated for visitors passing through. The cocktails are a genuine highlight, drawing praise even from industry professionals, and the bar's full-house energy on a good night speaks to its popularity with a well-dressed, mixed crowd. Food is also on the menu at accessible price points, and the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the venue add to the appeal. Whether the aim is a quiet drink early in the evening or a longer night out with live music, the bar accommodates both without pushing either. Good to know: Specific opening hours are not listed online, so arriving during typical Phuket evening hours — from around 6pm onwards — is a reasonable approach, or a quick message via social media before heading out is worthwhile. The venue is reachable from most parts of Phuket by songthaew or ride-sharing app. Smart-casual dress fits the crowd well. If the live music schedule is a priority, it is worth checking in advance as sets are not guaranteed every night.

Good music, vintage décor, and a really nice atmosphere, highly recommended for chilling in Phuket Old Town
Sexy bar. Easily the best cocktails I've had in Thailand, and this is coming from a lifelong bartender. This is the true local spot off the main Old City tourist trap. The live music. Incredible. First place not playing lame ass English pop music and actually Thai music, absolutely beautiful. Also, the actual playlists, very well curated, again, between sets it's great mashups of local and pop favorites. Expensive drinks, so be wary. This place ain't cheap. Aesthetically beautiful layout and charm. Also, the pool table and felt are pooh, probably the worst pool table I've played on in Thailand which is sad considering how gorgeous the venue is. But, it's 20 baht, so enjoy. Great service, very well staffed.
Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
