Liquid Room - Nimman 13
Liquid Room sits on one of Nimman's most walkable side lanes and has carved out a reputation as one of Chiang Mai's few dedicated hip-hop venues. The bar draws a crowd with regular DJ events, a solid sound system, and an intimate setting that keeps the energy focused and social. For a city not always known for its nightlife, it fills a genuine gap for visitors looking for something beyond rooftop cocktail bars or tourist-facing clubs. The venue is small by design, which means the atmosphere builds quickly when a good event is on. Drinks are generally considered well-priced by visitors, and the staff have drawn praise for being welcoming and enthusiastic. Like most smaller bars of this type, the experience can vary depending on the night — a strong DJ booking makes a noticeable difference, and some reviews reflect inconsistency on quieter nights. A practical note for first-timers: the bar tends to get busy from around 10pm and has been known to close around midnight, making it a shorter window than many nightlife spots. Arriving early on event nights is a reasonable idea given the limited space. Liquid Room is best suited to travellers who enjoy live DJ sets, hip-hop, or electronic music in a casual, no-frills setting rather than a polished club environment.

Visitor Reviews
FINALLY Chiang Mai has a hiphop spot! This place gets busy at 10pm and closes at midnight, so it’s only a short window but it’s worth going to if you like hiphop. Don’t panic if you walk in and they’re playing pop/dance though…I’d say it’s 95% hiphop. For some bizarre reason there’s the occasional pop song (when we walked in they were playing the Mariah Carey Christmas song, much to my absolute horror, and there were definitely at least one sneaky Justin Bieber track thrown into the mix) but overall it’s an awesome spot. And in a great location in Nimman too.
We had an amazing night at liquid room. It was an special event and a really cool dj played, the sound , ambiente and drinks where amazing and i think you have the best priced drinks and music if you want to hear some techno and trance. It's not the quite chill relax bar but if you are searching for some good music and Vibes its the perfect spot for you. Thank you for the amazing night 🙏 One big beer is around 110-130 baht and a Drink 150.
Great music.... Great staff! They are all rock stars, they made our experience peerfeeect 🤩🤩🤩

Tips for Visiting Nightlife & Bars
Carry Your Passport or a Copy
Clubs and some bars check IDs strictly, especially in Bangkok's Thonglor, RCA, and Sukhumvit areas. A photo of your passport info page on your phone usually works, but carrying a laminated photocopy is safer.
Know the Closing Times
Legal closing time is 2 AM for most venues, though enforcement varies. In Bangkok's designated entertainment zones (RCA, Silom Soi 2/4, Khao San), some clubs stay open until 4 AM. Islands tend to be more relaxed about hours.
Buy Bucket Drinks Cautiously
Island bucket drinks (mixed spirits in a small bucket) are cheap and fun but notoriously strong and inconsistent. Stick to one, stay hydrated, and never leave your drink unattended at beach parties.
