Central Department Store CentralFestival Chiangmai
CentralFestival Chiang Mai is a large, modern shopping centre located in the Fa Ham area of Mueang Chiang Mai district, bringing together a wide mix of retail options under one roof. The mall stocks an extensive range of brand-name clothing, footwear, accessories, and lifestyle products, with visitors frequently finding good value during in-store sales. The clean, well-organised environment makes for an easy and pleasant browse, whether shoppers are looking for fashion, fragrance, or something more niche. The tenant mix gives the mall broad appeal. Popular retail concepts including Daiso, the Japanese variety store, and Pop Mart, known for its collectible designer toys, draw shoppers with specific interests alongside general retail browsers. A dedicated perfume boutique called Journal has received particular praise from visitors for its authentic fragrance selection, fair pricing, and attentive service. The variety on offer means it is genuinely difficult to leave empty-handed. Practically speaking, the mall opens at 10:30 every day of the week and closes at 21:00, making it a reliable option for a late-morning start or an afternoon shopping session. It is located at 3 Tambon Fa Ham, and parking is available on site. For those visiting Chiang Mai on a tighter itinerary, the mall offers a straightforward way to pick up clothing, gifts, or everyday goods in a comfortable, air-conditioned setting.

Haggle at Markets, Not Malls
Prices at market stalls are negotiable — start at 50–60% of the asking price and meet in the middle. Fixed-price shops and malls don't haggle. Smile and keep it friendly; aggressive bargaining is considered rude.
Arrive Early or Late
Vendors believe the first sale of the day is lucky — you'll often get a better deal if you arrive right when the market opens. Late in the evening, sellers may also discount to avoid packing unsold goods.
Be Cautious with Tailors
Bangkok has excellent tailors, but also many tourist traps. Avoid anyone offering suspiciously cheap suits or who approaches you on the street. Ask your hotel for recommendations, read reviews, and always get two fittings.
