Why go, and how to do it well
Tup Island, also written Tub or Koh Thap, is a pair of tiny limestone islets between Koh Poda and Chicken Island off Ao Nang. What makes it a stop is Talay Waek, the separated sea. At low tide a ridge of sand rises out of the water and links Tup to neighboring Koh Mor, and you can walk the bar with the sea on both sides of you. At high tide it vanishes and Tup is just two small islands with a strip of beach.
It is the third stop on most 4 Islands tours, after Koh Poda and Chicken Island, and the shared longtails from Ao Nang beach that run to Poda usually include it. The tour operators time their stops loosely, so if walking the sandbar is the reason you are going, check the tide table for the day and ask the boat to come at low water.

Tips for Visiting Islands
Check Island Closures
Similan Islands, Surin Islands, and Koh Tachai close mid-May to mid-October. Some smaller islands reduce ferry service in monsoon season. Always verify schedules before planning your route.
Snorkel Gear Is Cheap to Buy
Rental gear is often scratched and ill-fitting. Buy a decent mask and snorkel at a Big C for 300–500 THB — cheaper than two days of rentals and much more hygienic.
Bring Cash to Smaller Islands
ATMs on smaller islands like Koh Kood, Koh Mak, and Koh Yao charge high fees and sometimes run out of cash. Withdraw enough on the mainland before heading over.
