About Royal Thai Villa
Tucked away in the quieter Rawai district of Phuket, Royal Thai Villa is a small boutique resort that combines traditional Thai architecture with a secluded, beachfront setting. Guests are positioned steps from the sea, with traditionally styled rooms oriented eastward toward the water, a pool, and an atmosphere that consistently draws comparisons to having a private villa rather than staying at a conventional hotel. The resort sits well away from Phuket's busier tourist corridors, making it particularly suited to travelers seeking tranquility over convenience to nightlife or shopping.
The experience leans heavily on atmosphere and setting. Visitors report welcoming staff, a pleasant pool, and a sense of privacy that is difficult to find elsewhere on the island. Meals are available on site, though breakfast is noted as a simple, non-buffet affair rather than an elaborate spread. The surroundings are described as peaceful and visually striking, with direct sea access being a consistent highlight across guest experiences.

Reviews from Google
This hotel is honestly a little paradise. The location couldn’t be more perfect — you’re literally on the beach within seconds, which made everything so convenient and relaxing. Despite being so close to the shore, it was impressively quiet and peaceful, perfect for unwinding. The room was clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, giving off a warm and cozy vibe the moment we walked in. The shared pool area was stunning, with gorgeous views and a refreshing breeze that made sunbathing incredibly comfortable. It never felt crowded, which added to the peaceful atmosphere. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the staff. They were unbelievably friendly, kind, and attentive, honestly felt like we were being looked after by family. They went out of their way to help with anything we needed, always smiling and making us feel so welcome. The food was average and could definitely be improved, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience because everything else was so enjoyable. If you’re looking for a relaxing, quiet beachfront escape with beautiful surroundings and genuinely amazing service, I highly recommend this place. We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already wanting to come back!
The best place in Phuket! Beautiful villas, great service and very tranquil place - highly recommended
Beautiful, tranquil, and rich in traditional Thai charm - but not quite worth the $200 usd per night I paid. ($220 with taxes and fees) The location is stunning: secluded, peaceful, and right on the beach, with authentic Thai architecture and artifacts throughout the property. However, there are a few things that took away from the overall experience. When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk, and they couldn’t locate our reservation. We waited about 30 minutes for someone to arrive only after a kind staff member from Myanmar (I believe he is the gardener or one of the security guards?) saw us standing around waiting at the front desk and he called someone to assist us. He was lovely and helpful, but the check-in experience left much to be desired - especially for a property at this price point. We stayed in the deluxe villa, which was beautifully designed but in need of some upkeep. I personally couldn’t sleep due to the AC cutting out in the middle of the night, possibly from a maintenance issue (though my guest had no problem sleeping). A few improvements that would truly elevate the stay: • Add an air purifier or improve ventilation (a must in older establishments) • Install mosquito nets or screens so guests can enjoy the breeze without letting mosquitoes in • Ensure someone is always available at the front desk, especially during check-in hours • Consider more landscaping maintenance and simple beach chairs for guest comfort The staff we interacted with were warm and attentive, but overall management needs to invest more in maintenance and guest experience. This place has so much potential to be a true 5-star hidden gem. If you’re looking for a quiet, beachfront retreat and don’t mind a bit of rustic charm (and a few quirks), this may still be a worthwhile stay for you. Just sharing my honest experience to help others decide.

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
Location Matters More Than Stars
A well-located 3-star hotel often beats a remote 5-star resort. In Bangkok, staying near a BTS or MRT station saves hours; on islands, proximity to the beach you actually want matters most.
