Ayrest Hotel

4.3(1,049 reviews)

Situated on Phet Kasem Road in the heart of Hua Hin, Ayrest Hotel is a resort-style property that manages to feel calm and secluded despite its central location. Guests frequently note the contrast between the busy main road outside and the tranquil, greenery-filled atmosphere within — a welcome quality in a town that draws both Thai weekenders and international travellers. The outdoor pool is a standout feature, described by visitors as large and filled with crystal-clear water, with rooms offering balcony views directly over it.

Rooms are consistently praised for being clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with many guests noting the value for money. The hotel includes an open-air restaurant serving breakfast, a bar, and good on-site parking — practical amenities that suit both short stays and longer visits. Staff are frequently described as welcoming and helpful, contributing to an overall atmosphere that encourages return visits.

As with any hotel, experiences at the front desk can vary, so travellers with specific requests or early check-in needs are advised to communicate these in advance by contacting the hotel directly through its website at ayresthotel.com. The hotel operates around the clock, making it a convenient base for exploring Hua Hin's beaches, night markets, and surrounding attractions regardless of arrival time.

A lovely hotel with welcoming and friendly staff. The room was clean and spacious and much better than I expected for the price. I only stayed here one night so it is hard to comment on certain things, I did not use the pool but it seemed clean and a lovely area to relax. I used this hotel as a base to go on a trip to a nearby National Park to see wild elephants and free transport from this location was included so it was a great location for this. I departed the next day from Hua Hin train station which was a short Grab journey away. If I was staying in the area for longer I perhaps would have preferred to stay closer to the main sights, shops and restaurants but they were not too far away. The only disappoint was the buffet breakfast as there was not much choice and it was just okay and even though I attended early (7am) some of the food was quite cold, and the coffee machine did not work either. However, I’m not that fussy and can get past this, but others may not be so forgiving.

Can't fault it. A lovely welcome into a fantastic, spotless room. Balcony overlooking the spectacular, crystal blue water of the pool. Good parking and quiet location too. Highly recommended!

This was the worst reception I’ve ever experienced. The room condition at Ayrest Hotel was decent, and although the bread at breakfast wasn’t fresh, breakfast is still tasted good. However, the reception desk staff were not professional. Since there was no “Do Not Disturb” sign, I called to inform them that I did not want room cleaning, but the room was cleaned anyway. I also requested some extra towels — they said they would bring them in 10 minutes, but even after more than 30 minutes, no one came, so I had to call again. The shuttle bus scheduled for 4:00 PM didn’t depart until almost 4:20 PM, and punctual departures were rarely observed. I believe the reception is the face of the hotel, but their work performance was truly poor.

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts

Book Shoulder Season

May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.

Compare OTAs and Direct Rates

Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.

Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive

Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
