Bang Pu Beach

Situated along the Prachuap Khiri Khan coastline within Sam Roi Yot district, this beach serves primarily as the departure point for boat trips to the renowned Phaya Nakhon Cave, one of the region's most celebrated natural attractions. Rather than a conventional resort beach, it functions as a scenic and practical base for exploring the surrounding coastline, drawing visitors who pair a coastal stop with cave visits, island hopping, and excursions through nearby mangrove swamps and fishermen's villages. The beach itself is a long stretch of mixed sand and mud with a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere. Water clarity is modest, but the setting is pleasant and several restaurants are within easy reach. Boat rides depart from here at reasonable prices, carrying groups of around five to six passengers to the cave entrance and surrounding points of interest. Taking the boat is strongly favoured over the overland hike, particularly in warmer months, as it saves considerable time and effort. At the cave destination, visitors will find seating and shaded areas to rest and take in the surroundings. Good to know: Boat availability is not guaranteed, so confirming schedules before making the trip is strongly advised. The most comfortable visiting conditions fall between November and February, outside the hotter and more humid months. The beach offers limited shade, so bringing sun protection, water, and snacks is recommended. Bang Pu works well as part of a broader day trip through Sam Roi Yot National Park and the wider coastal area.
