Orchid Resort

4.1(1,049 reviews)

Sitting in the Lat Krabang district on the eastern edge of Bangkok, this traditional Thai-style resort hotel is best positioned as a transit stop for travellers moving through Suvarnabhumi Airport. Wood-paneled rooms, an outdoor pool, spa treatments, and massage services give it more character than a standard airport hotel, and the traditional aesthetic sets a tone that feels distinctly local rather than corporate.

Guests consistently note that the real strength of the property lies in its staff, who are described as helpful and welcoming. The location earns particular praise for its proximity to a nearby night market, roughly a five-minute walk away, offering a convenient and authentic first or last taste of Thailand. Airport pickup is available, though guests are advised to contact the hotel directly upon arrival rather than expecting to be met at the gate.

Prospective visitors should go in with calibrated expectations. Rooms are functional and clean for the price point, but some have open grates rather than sealed windows, which can mean road noise carries through. This is a practical, good-value base rather than a luxury retreat, and travellers who approach it on those terms tend to leave satisfied. It suits one-night stopovers particularly well, especially for those arriving late or departing early from Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Incredible value for money. Great location if you are having a pit stop before going to the airport, or needing a day of rest after landing in Bangkok before continuing the journey in Thailand. The staff are incredible. They picked us up at 3am in the airport and drove us to the hotel - cheaper than bolt if I remember correctly🌺 The pool is clean, the rooms are comfortable, and it is close to a very nice night market. I forgot my charger, and they were very accommodating in getting it back to me. Always polite and helpful! I recommend! Also: I see a lot of recent negative review, which is unfair. These people must be expecting a 5 star hotel. Don’t mind them, they probably have nothing better to do than complain - the value for your money is great.

Good, basic place to sleep for one night to be close to the airport. Location is perfect if you have time to eat at the night market, which is a safe 5 minute walk away. The staff are what make this place memorable. I enjoyed my time here. The rooms are a bit outdated, however the price matches it.

If you look for cheap and discastin this is for you. 😅 Reason. 1 See pictures. 2 They don't wait in the airport. You need to call in a chaos. 3 if you want to change room pay more. Exact the same but lower floor or 2 beds 😂 . Just money 🤑 💰 I was lucky because just a bag if you came with suitcase.... I can't imagine. Was a offer of my credit card... What a offer I pay 15€ and normaly cost 15€-20€ and is what you get Resort is a big word😂😂😂😂😂 Don't loose face

Book Shoulder Season

May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.

Compare OTAs and Direct Rates

Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.

Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive

Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
