Why go, and how to do it well
Pay the 100 baht for the longtail from the main Phi Phi pier. The walk from Ton Sai takes 20 to 25 minutes on paper and feels a good deal longer in the heat, and you'll arrive sweaty for a beach where the swimming is better first thing anyway. The water here is properly clear, with fish visible close in, and the sand is white and clean. It's also covered in seashells and small rocks in places, so bring something on your feet.
Don't come expecting empty sand. It's a long stretch but it fills up, and a fair chunk of the shoreline is taken up by longtail boats mooring rather than people swimming. Walk further along and the crowds thin out. Food is limited to a resort restaurant that's open to everyone plus a couple of bars, so if you want choice, eat before you come. Water levels drop noticeably in the afternoon, which changes the swimming completely.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Phi Phi is absolutely stunning – the whole area is just incredible. Beautiful beaches, crystal-clear water and an amazing island atmosphere. The viewpoint is a must-do: the view over the island and the bays is breathtaking and totally worth it. From the beach to the viewpoints, everything feels special and unique. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited – highly recommended!
Long beach is beautiful clear water beach. It is worth visiting. You can either take a 100 bhat (day time) long tail boat to the beach or can walk for 20-25 min to reach there. The beach is open for all but it has only one beautiful restaurant belongs to the resort. You can enjoy the beach from the restaurant, it is open for all. I didn’t give it a 5 star because of a limited food option and the beach has limited space. During peak time it may feel over crowded.
Quite a long hike from the main part of town, felt a lot longer than it looked like on the map. Recommend taking a long boat there instead for a charge. The beach itself was alright, covers a long stretch but also very busy. Water is clear with many fish swimming around. Beach is clean with white sands but also many seashells and rocks which may be hard to walk on without shoes. Worth going if you're paying to get there by boat.
