A longtail boat from the main Phi Phi pier costs around 100 baht per person and is the more comfortable option. Walking from Ton Sai takes approximately 20 to 25 minutes, though visitors consistently report the route feels considerably longer than it looks on a map, especially in the heat. Once on the beach, facilities remain basic, and longtail boats operating close to shore can disrupt the atmosphere in busier sections — walking further along the shoreline tends to reward those looking for a calmer spot. Good to know: Water levels drop noticeably in the afternoon due to tidal changes, which affects swimming conditions, so a morning visit is generally the better choice.
