Tawaen Beach

Tawaen Beach occupies the largest stretch of sand on Ko Lan Island, sitting just off the coast of Pattaya and offering a noticeably different experience from the urban beaches on the mainland. The water is clear with strong colour, the sand is fine, and the shoreline is wide enough to accommodate a comfortable day of swimming and general beach activity. It draws families and casual visitors looking for an island setting without travelling far from Pattaya. The atmosphere is lively rather than secluded. Sun loungers are available for rent along the beach, and a row of local restaurants serves food at prices broadly comparable to the mainland. Water activities and the sound of passing watercraft are part of the environment, and the beach can get crowded during peak periods. Some visitors have found service quality inconsistent and the beach chairs expensive relative to the space provided, so expectations are worth calibrating before arrival. Practically speaking, the speedboat is the better option for the return journey to Pattaya, as the slow ferry can take well over an hour. Arriving early helps secure a better position on the beach and avoids the busiest part of the day. The dry season, running roughly from November through February, brings the clearest water conditions. Facilities are functional but basic, so bringing sun protection and any personal essentials is advisable.
