Phuket Sail Tours

4.9(551 reviews)

Operating out of Ao Por Centre in the quieter northern reaches of Phuket, this tour agency runs small-group sailing and speedboat excursions across some of the Andaman Sea's most iconic destinations, including Phang Nga Bay, James Bond Island, and the Phi Phi Islands. The consistently small group sizes — often as few as six passengers — set it apart from larger, more crowded operators, allowing for a more personal and unhurried experience on the water.

Visitors can choose from several tour formats, including sunset cruises and full-day island itineraries. Tours are well-organised from pick-up to drop-off, with crews praised by past visitors for being attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely engaged. Highlights commonly include kayaking through sea caves, snorkelling in clear waters, and catching the sunset from the water. Refreshments, snacks, and lunch are included on select tours, so it is worth checking what each package covers when booking.

Myself and my wife did 2 tours with Mark. Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Sunset Tour by big boat and Phi Phi Sunset Tour by speedboat. Both tours included unlimited snacks and soft drinks and also lunch. Lunch was cooked fresh and served on the boat on the big boat tour and on the speedboat tour it was served at a local beachfront restaurant. The food was plentiful on both tours. Being a small group tour company attracted us to use them. It's one of the best decisions we've made. From pick up to drop off and absolutely everything in between, Phuket Sail Tours delivered on all accounts. The tours were fantastic. Pristine white beaches, crystal clear water, excellent food, wonderful staff and memories that will last a lifetime. Monkeys were everywhere on most beaches. Lots of cave canoeing on the James Bond trip, which was awesome, including seeing bioluminescent plankton, cave bats, monitor lizards and amazing sunsets. Phi Phi Islands trip was amazing too. The Speedboat was fast, views to die for. Maya Beach was stunning and nice to see the black tip reef sharks, as the water is clear and shallow. We passed the Viking Caves, where they collect birds nests to make the birds nest soup, again stunning sunsets, great swimming and snorkeling and we were lucky to see fruit bats following our speedboat back to shore. They were huge. Thoroughly recommend Phuket Sail Tours and would definitely use them again on our return to Thailand.

Amazing tour, really well organised and all of the team couldn't do more for you. The team at the pier and team onboard were all so helpful and happy to support you to make trip amazing. The earlier start helped to get ahead of the big crowds, well worth it. Snorkeling was class, felt like in an aquarium the fish were that close to my face. Everywhere we went was more scenic than the last. Everyone on the tour with us were having a great time and were so nice it was like being on a private tour. The captain, tour guide and boat boy on the boat were knowledgeable, engaging and happy at their work it made the trip special. Lunch and onboard snacks were a huge bonus as so good. I felt the trip was worth every penny, I'm sure cheaper trips can be found but I would recommend paying the little bit extra for this as the limited numbers, staff, breakfast, lunch, onboard treats all make it so hassle free and enjoyable.

Our hosts Roch and Daniel of Baan Dao recommended we take the sunset James Bond Island tour with Phuket Sail Tours. It was first class from pick up to drop off. With 4 kayak visits to four extraordinary locations, each more wonderful than the last, we were entertained and amazed all afternoon and evening long. The staff were, without exception, courteous and considerate. The sites; all memorable.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
