Amazing Canoeing - Ao Po Pier Meeting Point
Operating out of Ao Po Pier in northern Phuket, Amazing Canoeing runs guided day tours into Phang Nga Bay, with the James Bond Island tour being the clear centrepiece of what they offer. Guests travel by big boat to iconic locations including the famous limestone karst from the 1974 film, sea caves, and surrounding islands, with canoeing segments woven into the itinerary to access narrow passages and cave systems unreachable by larger vessels. Reviews consistently highlight the quality of the guides — named Tommy, James, Omah, and Chanon in recent accounts — who are praised for being engaging, informative, and attentive to solo travellers and large family groups alike. A buffet lunch with vegetarian options is included on the boat. Tours run daily, catering to families, couples, and solo travellers across a range of group sizes. The combination of cultural landmarks, natural scenery, and hands-on paddling gives the experience a varied pace that suits most fitness levels, and the guides appear to make photography easy for those travelling alone. Good to know: Hotel pickup by taxi is available, making logistics straightforward from most Phuket locations. The meeting point is Ao Po Pier, which sits in the north of the island, so factor in travel time if staying further south. Operating hours run from 7:00 AM to 11:45 PM daily, though tours themselves are daytime excursions — contact the operator or visit amazingcanoeing.com to confirm departure times and book in advance, particularly for larger groups.

Visitor Reviews
Tommy was a great host and his staff were lovely. He was very interactive and informative. I travelled solo and he was helpful if taking photos for me. The food for lunch was nice and a good variety. It’s a fantastic day out, I highly recommend it.
Had an amazing time with Omah and his team. Very patient. And his English is great and he explains everything. We went on the James Bond Island Tour with the caves. Had a wonderful day. ❤️ the meeting pier has free food and other essential items you need you can buy.
James Bond Island tour big boat Our guide Tommy was very kind and funny! We had an amazing experience. We got picked up by a taxi from our hotel. For lunch we had a buffet with deep fried chicken, fries, vegetables, rice, many options. The boat was clean and the toilets are nice for a boat. We had free water, coffee and tea + beer to buy for 100 baht. We stopped for canoeing twice (you have a paddler, you don’t paddle yourself - they are nice guys, you can bring a tip for them). James Bond island was quite crowded (had 40 minutes to roam around but it’s more than enough) so we got delayed a bit and reached the port around 17:00. We paid 1400 baht per person via Phuket Direct Tours + 300 baht cash tax for natural reservation.

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
