Than Bok Khorani National Park
Set among Krabi's dramatic limestone karst interior, this national park in Ao Luek district offers a quieter alternative to the region's coastal attractions. The park centres on a clear, swimmable river, shaded walking trails, and accessible cave systems, all framed by dense tropical forest. A small on-site restaurant is available for those wanting to extend their visit, and the park also serves as a departure point for boat trips to nearby islands, making it a practical base for exploring the area beyond the beaches. The main trail runs approximately 1,500 metres through well-maintained paths alongside the river, making the park best suited to a half-day visit rather than a full day. Visitors should be aware that foreign nationals pay a 300 baht entry fee — a detail that divides opinion among reviewers, particularly given the park's compact size. The single-day ticket does not permit re-entry, so it is worth deciding in advance which areas to prioritise. The dry season, roughly November to April, offers the most reliable conditions, with manageable water levels and cooler mornings. Arriving early is strongly recommended, as the park becomes noticeably busier after 10am. Sturdy footwear is advisable for the cave sections, and sun protection is useful along the more open stretches of trail. Checking locally for current opening hours before travelling is worthwhile, as this information is not consistently available in advance.

Visitor Reviews
Dont miss it. Ok 300 baths for farang but you can swim in beautiful area..almost alone. Nice trail ... Amazing Nature. Clean toilet. Restaurant ok but some menu dont have price...😅
Visited Hong island and som more smaller ones on a day trip by speedboat. Very beautiful area with lots of nature. Make sure to get up early in the morning as it can get busy over the day ( after 10am ).
More like a tropical garden than a national park as the size of it is rather small. Of course I was annoyed to pay 300 Baht for a trail of 1500 m that is to say 5 Bath per meter for a “faranj”… Having said that, I enjoyed the scenery, the colour of the waters, the plants and the animals found on the way.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
