Baan Suan Pha Hin Camping

Camping here is about the rocks. The name translates roughly to "Rock Garden Home", and the stone formations scattered through the grounds are what give the place its character, along with the garden planting around them. It's a different proposition from a tidy row of pitches on flat grass, and that's the appeal.

The pace is slow. This is somewhere you come to pitch a tent, sit still and let the day pass, not to tick off activities. It sits in Tambon Isan on the edge of Buriram city, so you're close enough to town to stock up but far enough out that evenings are quiet. If you want organized entertainment or a resort feel, look elsewhere. If you want a night under the stars somewhere that locals actually use, this fits.

I'd aim for the cool season, roughly November to February. Camping in Buriram during the hot months or the rains is a test of character rather than a vacation.
