Why go, and how to do it well
Chang International Circuit is the reason most race fans have heard of Buriram. Opened in 2014 next to Chang Arena on the edge of the city, it's a 4.554 km track with 12 turns, and it has hosted the Thai round of MotoGP since 2018. Since 2025 that round has opened the world championship each season, and the 2027 race is set for 5 to 7 March. Wikipedia now lists it as Buriram International Circuit, but the signs and the locals still call it Chang.
On a race weekend the whole city revolves around it, with packed grandstands, fan zones and every hotel room in the province taken, so book the flight and the room months ahead. Outside race weekends it hosts national championships and track days, and the grounds are a pleasant stop to pair with a Buriram United match at Chang Arena next door and a look at the castle-style Buriram Castle nearby.
