ณลิลธารา (Nalinthara) Thai Massage & Relaxation
Situated beside the river in Tambon Rim Kok, this dedicated massage and relaxation establishment has built a strong reputation among both repeat visitors and first-timers passing through Chiang Rai. The riverside location sets it apart from the typical massage shop experience, providing a genuinely peaceful environment that enhances the therapeutic effect of the treatments on offer. Visitors consistently highlight the skill level of the practitioners, the calm and beautifully presented surroundings, and small thoughtful touches such as complimentary tea served before and after sessions. The setting next to the water contributes to an atmosphere that feels removed from the bustle of the city, making it a fitting choice for those wanting more than a perfunctory treatment. While some reviewers note that prices sit slightly above street-level alternatives, the general consensus is that the quality of technique and overall experience justifies the difference. Good to know: Specific opening hours are not listed online, so it is worth contacting the establishment directly before visiting or building in some flexibility when planning your day. The venue is located in Rim Kok, which sits a short distance from central Chiang Rai, so factor in travel time if you are based in the city centre. Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended for traditional Thai massage, and arriving a few minutes early allows time to settle in before your session begins.

Visitor Reviews
This place is an absolute dream! The prices are just as affordable as the street stalls, but the experience is on a whole different level. The moment you walk in, you’re wrapped in a blanket of calm and serenity. The massage itself is pure bliss—expert hands, perfect pressure, and a deep sense of relaxation. What makes it even more special is the peaceful atmosphere: you can hear the sounds of nature and birds singing in the background, making you feel like you’re in a paradise. I totally recommend this place.
By far our best massage experience in Thailand. We have gone multiple times and each time has been amazing. It’s a beautiful setting next to the river and offers a very peaceful environment. The staff is always friendly and attentive to details. Today, they went above and beyond and celebrated Loy Krathong with us. They served us delicious homemade Thai snacks and tea. We will continue to go back.
Highly recommended. Slightly more expensive than other places, but the standard is far superior. It's worth the extra Baht! My boyfriend and I went twice during our stay: once for a Thai massage and once for a Vietnamese head spa treatment. Both were very pleasant, and the staff were very professional and kind.

Tips for Visiting Wellness & Spas
Learn Wat Pho First
Wat Pho in Bangkok is the birthplace of traditional Thai massage education. Their on-site massage pavilion offers excellent treatments from students and graduates at reasonable prices — and you know the technique is authentic.
Communicate Pressure Preferences
Thai massage can be intense. Say 'bao bao' for lighter pressure or 'nак nак' for harder. A good therapist will check in, but don't hesitate to speak up — suffering in silence defeats the purpose.
Book Longer Sessions
A 60-minute massage is fine, but 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist to work thoroughly. The price difference is often only 200–400 THB for an extra hour — worth it for a deeper, more relaxing experience.
