Limoncello Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar Pai
Tucked into central Pai on Vieng Tai Road, this Italian restaurant and wine bar offers a genuine departure from the surrounding Thai cuisine, drawing visitors with freshly made pasta, wood-fired pizza, and a thoughtfully selected wine list. Chef-driven and ingredient-focused, the kitchen takes evident pride in sourcing quality produce to recreate traditional Italian preparations — standout dishes from regular visitors include the gnocchi pesto and freshly made strozzapretti with sausage, bell pepper, and mushroom. The atmosphere leans cozy and welcoming rather than formal, making it comfortable for solo travellers, couples, and small groups alike. The wine bar component sets it apart from most restaurants in Pai, offering proper beverage pairing in a town where that option is relatively uncommon. Pricing sits slightly higher than local alternatives, though most visitors consider it reasonable given the quality and preparation involved. Good to know: The restaurant opens exclusively in the evenings from 4:30 PM every day, with last orders between 10:30 PM and 11:30 PM depending on the night — Friday closes latest at 11:30 PM. There is no website for advance reservations, so arriving early in the evening is advisable during Pai's busy tourist season, particularly from November through February. The Vieng Tai Road location is walkable from most central accommodation.

Visitor Reviews
Authentic Italian Cuisine with Heart Limoncello Pai is a true gem for anyone craving authentic Italian food in a cozy, welcoming setting. I had the pleasure of meeting Chef S, whose culinary reputation spans decades—and it truly shows. You can feel the passion he pours into every single plate. The pizza was crisp and full of flavor, and the pasta was rich, comforting, and perfectly cooked. Every dish had that handmade, soulful touch that makes the meal memorable. A must-try is the pistachio ice cream—not too sweet, but incredibly smooth and delicious. It’s homemade, and if you’re looking for a great dessert or a sweet little touch to end your meal in Pai, this is it. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates genuine food made with care.
Best Italian pasta in Pai. My unexpected experience run into this newly open restaurant (2 years 😄). Have a chat with Chef and learn that the restaurant pick top in class ingredient to make best dishes. Their tiramisu’s is best not too sweet which I love. The new pizza just launch when I was there - hitting in to new create pizza with pesto sauce - superb and would be great choice for vegan people.
Showed up for dinner and the waitress recommended the Pasta alle salsiccie panna e pomodoro, and I went with the freshly made strozzapretti. It came with bell pepper, sausage and mushroom, and was really tasty! Definitely would recommend if you’re in Pai & craving Italian!

Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
