Cheese Madness
Sitting on Pai's lively walking street, this restaurant has carved out a loyal following among travellers and repeat visitors alike by doing something genuinely unusual for northern Thailand: putting cheese at the centre of the menu. Meat and cheese boards, grilled cheese sandwiches, fried cheese, and cheesy side dishes make up the core of the offering, and the kitchen pairs these with a solid wine selection at prices that visitors consistently describe as reasonable. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, very much in keeping with Pai's relaxed, alternative character, and the owner and staff have earned a reputation for warmth that keeps people coming back across multiple trips. The menu is best suited to travellers craving comfort food or a break from Thai cuisine, though the creative approach to cheese-forward dishes gives it appeal beyond novelty alone. Standout items according to visitors include the grilled cheese sandwiches and fried cheese starters. Wine is available, and reviews also note the restaurant operates openly within Pai's permissive social scene. Good to know: Opening hours are not listed online, so it is worth confirming times before making the trip, particularly during quieter travel periods. The central walking street location makes it easy to combine with an evening stroll through Pai's night market and surrounding eateries. Given its popularity, arriving early in the evening is a sensible approach to securing a table without a wait.

Visitor Reviews
A true one-stop shop for comfort food, booze, and weed. The food is genuinely delicious, the grilled cheese sandwiches are a must, any of the cheesy side dishes are a safe bet, and the fried onion rings are outstanding. Bonus points for the super friendly dog, which instantly makes the place feel even more welcoming. The staff are warm, relaxed, and make you feel right at home. I’d happily return here.
We’ve been regular customers for several years. We absolutely love this place. The fried cheese is delicious, and there’s a great selection of wine. The staff is friendly, and the owner is wonderful with her adorable dogs ❤️
Great place in Pai for cheese lovers! We came two nights, & thoroughly enjoyed the meat & cheese boards, with a few glasses of very reasonably priced wine. Try it if you are in Pai.
Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
