This is home-style southern cooking at local prices, not a menu softened up for tourists, served in a plain, comfortable room on the highway rather than anywhere with a view. If you're staying near Sala Dan and tired of paying beach-road rates for a plate of rice, this is where I'd send you.
Go slightly off the peak hours if you can. A 09:30 opening means you can have an early plate of something before the lunch crowd arrives, and mid-afternoon is quiet. Come at one o'clock or seven and you may be waiting. There's no website and no online booking, so it's walk-in only, and I'd bring cash as a matter of course at this sort of place.
