Take the Van to the Airport or Town, the Boat to Ao Nang or Railay
Koh Lanta to Krabi is about 80–100 km by road from Saladan, with one short car ferry on the way, and the right way depends on where in Krabi you're going. For Krabi airport or Krabi Town, take a minivan. They pick up at your hotel hourly from about 06:00 to 16:00, cost about ฿380–540, and take 2–2.5 hours to the airport and about three to town. For Ao Nang or Railay, the boat is the nicer ride. Speedboats leave Saladan pier at 13:30 even in October and reach Railay around 14:55 and Ao Nang about 15:25 for about ฿1,200, and from November to April more boats run, including a morning ferry to Krabi Town's Klong Jilad pier. A private car to Krabi airport costs about ฿2,100–3,100 and takes about two hours. The last van leaves around 16:00, so an evening flight means a car or Tigerline's 16:00 speedboat-and-van combination. It's about 80–100 km by road, with one car ferry
From Saladan it's about 77 km to Krabi airport, 89 km to Krabi Town and 103 km to Ao Nang, plus the short car ferry from Lanta Noi to the mainland. Straight-line figures of 50 km ignore all of that.
Minivans run hourly 06:00–16:00, about ฿380–540
Every van picks up at your hotel. Jijie, At Lanta Vacation, Good Luck Lanta and Krabi Transport run to Krabi airport and Krabi Town; Ao Nang drops cost about ฿470–800. The car-ferry fare is included.
Krabi airport is 2–2.5 hours by van
Take a van that leaves at least 4.5 hours before a domestic flight. The last van is around 16:00, so for an evening flight book a private car (about ฿2,100–3,100) or Tigerline's 16:00 speedboat-and-van to the airport.
Speedboats to Ao Nang and Railay leave at 13:30, all year
Bundhaya and Koh Ngai Camping run from Saladan to Railay (about 14:55) and Ao Nang's Nopparat Thara pier (about 15:25) for about ฿1,200 even in October. High season adds more sailings.
The ferry to Krabi Town is high season only
The Lanta Super Concord ferry leaves Saladan at 08:15 and reaches Klong Jilad at 11:00 for about ฿500 from November to April. In October no boat goes to Krabi Town.
A private car is about ฿2,100–3,100
About two hours to the airport and a little more to Ao Nang (up to about ฿3,450). It's the only way after the last van, and splits well three or four ways.

To Krabi Airport or Krabi Town, Take the Minivan
Hourly with hotel pickup, and the 16:00 cutoff
The minivan is the all-year answer, and it's door to door. Jijie runs hourly from about 06:00 to 16:00 for about ฿430, At Lanta Vacation leaves at 08:00 and 12:00 for about ฿400 (฿480 to Ao Nang), and Good Luck Lanta and Krabi Transport fill the gaps. The van collects you at your hotel, crosses the Siri Lanta bridge to Lanta Noi and takes the short car ferry to the mainland, then runs about 2–2.5 hours to Krabi airport and about three to Krabi Town or its bus terminal. The ferry fare is included. Book the evening before at your hotel or online; in high season the morning vans fill.
For a flight, take a van that leaves Lanta at least 4.5 hours before a domestic departure, which allows for the pickup round, a queue at the car ferry and check-in. The last van leaves around 16:00, so for a flight after about 19:30 you need a private car or Tigerline's 16:00 speedboat with a van to the airport (about ฿1,000, arriving about 18:30).
To Ao Nang or Railay, Take the 13:30 Speedboat
It runs in low season too, and high season adds more
Boats to Ao Nang and Railay leave Saladan pier, at the north tip of Lanta, all year. On a mid-October day Bundhaya's speedboat left at 13:30 and reached Railay East at 14:55 and Ao Nang's Nopparat Thara pier at 15:25 for about ฿1,200, with Koh Ngai Camping's boat to Railay at the same time and price. That's the only sea route that drops you on Railay, which has no road. Speedboats are wet in any swell, so bag your luggage.
From November to April the timetable fills out. Bundhaya adds 09:00 and 15:30 sailings, Andaman Wave Master runs a 12:30 speedboat to Railay and Klong Jilad, the Ao Nang Princess ferry leaves at 13:30 for Ao Nang and Railay (about ฿670, slower and steadier), and the Lanta Super Concord ferry leaves at 08:15 for Krabi Town's Klong Jilad pier at 11:00 for about ฿500. In October, none of those run, and no boat goes to Krabi Town, so take the van.
Going to Ao Nang or Railay, take the 13:30 speedboat. Going to the airport or Krabi Town, take the hotel-pickup van, and book a car for any flight after about 19:30.
