Why go, and how to do it well
This is where Hua Hin does its actual shopping, and that's the whole appeal. Fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, fish, hot food ready to take home, and a few vendors selling live fish for garden ponds. Prices are low, bulk buying is possible, and by every account the number you're quoted is the same one a Thai shopper gets. That last point matters more than people admit.
Doors open at 2pm and it runs to 8pm, seven days a week, so there's no market day to plan around. I'd aim for late afternoon, once the hot food stalls are properly going and the heat has dropped a bit. Regulars who've been coming for years keep coming back for the same reason, because the produce is good and it stays good. If you cook where you're staying, or you just want Thai food that hasn't been sweetened into submission by a supermarket, it's worth the trip.

Good local market with a lot of daily fresh produce at a good price. You can go there as a foreigner without getting stared at, people are friendly and polite, and they don't increase the price because you're a foreigner. Quality is always very good and prices are low. Can be a bit muddy when it rains and if you're tall you may have to bend a little, but you get the best deals there and the atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant.
Very large local market that sells fresh vegetables, meats, fish, hot foods and live fish for your ponds at home. Cheap prices with the availability to bulk buy. 👍🏽👍🏽
