Rajabhakti Park

4.4(10,893 reviews)

Rajabhakti Park is a sweeping open-air memorial dedicated to seven revered kings of Thailand, spanning historical periods from the Sukhothai era through to the Rattanakosin period. Named by the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the park's title translates to "loyalty to the monarchy," reflecting its purpose as a place of national pride and historical remembrance. The centrepiece is a series of monumental bronze statues, each depicting a king who played a significant role in defending or unifying the country, with plaques providing context about each ruler's reign and legacy. Visitors can expect a well-maintained, spacious park with a large ceremonial plaza and immaculately kept grounds. A shuttle bus operates from the car park to the statues, making the site accessible for those who prefer not to walk the full distance. The atmosphere is respectful and quietly impressive, drawing both Thai locals and international travellers with an interest in history and culture. Good to know: entrance to the park is free of charge, and it is open every day from 8:00am to 6:00pm. As the site carries strong cultural and royal significance, modest dress is recommended out of respect. Visiting earlier in the day is advisable to avoid the midday heat, as the statues and plaza are largely exposed to the sun. The park is located on Phet Kasem Road in the Nong Kae area, a short drive from central Hua Hin.

A famous Thai historical park, Rajabhakti Park is located in Nong Kae Subdistrict, Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej named it "Rajabhakti," meaning a park built out of loyalty, in honor of the past Thai monarchs who provided great benevolence to their country. There are statues of seven Thai kings within the park: King Ramkhamhaeng the Great, King Naresuan the Great, King Narai the Great, King Taksin the Great, King Phutthayodfa Chulalok the Great, King Mongkut, and King Chulalongkorn the Great. The landmark is also a historical learning center, where tourist and local alike can learn about each Thai monarch's heroic achievements. You can find shops and restrooms in the front building from the parking lot. The shuttle bus is waiting in the next building. Its free and plenty of seats. In this area, there is a museum with miniaturized statues and brief biographies of the seven kings (in Thai only). My recommendation would be for the government to describe also in English and other languages. My son and husband are using Google Translate to understand the historical stories. The landmark was enjoyable and impressed our family. We look forward to returning one day. 🫶🏻❤️

Rajabhakti Park is a majestic memorial park that symbolizes the people's loyalty to the monarchy and spans historical periods from Sukhothai to Rattanakosin, honoring kings who defended and united the nation. The site serves as a prominent place for Thai citizens to pay respects to their ancestors and for tourists to learn about the nation's history. There is no entry fee. It’s a nice place to visit and they offer free shuttle bus service to take you back and forth to the monuments. There is a small gift shop at the monument area and others shops by the parking lot. Highly recommend to visit.

Worth a visit. There's a shuttle that takes you from the car park to the Monuments. A plaque gives basic details about each King. Not sure why these Kings were chosen, perhaps they represent different eras There's a lot of concrete - the area is used by the Thai Army for events, very little shade. Places to buy refreshments. Worth a visit.

Tips for Visiting Temples & Culture

Dress Modestly

Cover shoulders and knees at all temples. Carry a light scarf or sarong — some temples lend wraps, but not all. Shoes come off before entering any building with a Buddha image.

Mind Your Feet

Never point your feet at a Buddha image or a monk — it's considered deeply disrespectful. When sitting inside a temple, tuck your feet behind you or to the side.

Ask Before Photographing

Exterior photos are almost always fine, but some interior halls prohibit photography. Look for signs, and never pose irreverently with Buddha images — it's a legal offense in Thailand.
