Why go, and how to do it well
Koh Khrok is a tiny island, under 500 meters long, off the east side of Koh Larn. It has a small pier, a couple of simple bars and no accommodation, and it is known for one thing, a shallow reef of 2 to 5 meters around its shore that suits beginners. Pattaya's dive schools use it as a training site, and the island-hopping tours stop here for snorkeling, usually on the same trip as Koh Sak.
It is a short stop rather than a day out. Pair it with Koh Sak and a beach on Koh Larn and you have a full island day from Pattaya without a long boat ride; on its own it is worth the trip only for a first dive or snorkel in calm water.

Tips for Visiting Islands
Check Island Closures
Similan Islands, Surin Islands, and Koh Tachai close mid-May to mid-October. Some smaller islands reduce ferry service in monsoon season. Always verify schedules before planning your route.
Snorkel Gear Is Cheap to Buy
Rental gear is often scratched and ill-fitting. Buy a decent mask and snorkel at a Big C for 300–500 THB — cheaper than two days of rentals and much more hygienic.
Bring Cash to Smaller Islands
ATMs on smaller islands like Koh Kood, Koh Mak, and Koh Yao charge high fees and sometimes run out of cash. Withdraw enough on the mainland before heading over.
