Only a handful of islands are a real day out from Pattaya. Koh Larn is the one with beaches and a public ferry, Koh Sak and Koh Khrok are the snorkeling stops on the island-hopping tours, and Koh Si Chang off Si Racha is a lived-in island with a royal palace museum. Koh Samet, a couple of hours away by road and boat, is the step up for a night or two. Koh Chang and Koh Kood have their own list.
