Royal Cliff Grand Hotel Pattaya

4.5(4,813 reviews)

The pools are the reason to book this one. Guests keep coming back to them in reviews, several of them, some described as twice the size of an Olympic pool, set among manicured gardens and cabanas with the Gulf spread out below. It sits high on Phra Tamnak, part of the wider Royal Cliff complex, so you also get the private beach and the beach club facilities without staying in the middle of Pattaya's noise.

The mood leans adult and quiet rather than lively, which suits some people and will bore others. Rooms come in for consistent praise for space and cleanliness, and the ocean-facing ones are the ones people remember. Ask for sea view when you book rather than hoping at the desk. The buffet gets good marks. Not every stay lands the same way, though: there's a scattering of complaints about housekeeping misses and cool service at the front desk and bar, so it's worth being clear about what you expect on arrival.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Royal Cliff Grand Hotel. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and overlooked the ocean—waking up to that view every day was a highlight of the trip. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. From the front desk to the doormen and security team, everyone made us feel genuinely cared for. We even had some fun banter with the doormen and security, which added a really personal touch to the experience. The buffet selection was excellent with plenty of variety, and the dining options across the property were fantastic. There are also so many lovely spots to sit and work or relax, all with gorgeous views—it’s a great place if you’re mixing travel with a bit of work or quiet time. We stayed for 10 days and appreciated that guests can use the amenities across both Royal Cliff properties. We spent a lot of time at the pool at the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel, which was perfect for lounging and soaking up the atmosphere. Overall, a wonderful stay from start to finish. We’d happily return and highly recommend it.

Hotel is luxurious, stunning views, typical nice hotel rooms, more adult leaning than the beach club though you have access to their facilities too. Private beach, and for me the massive - truly massive pools and manicured gardens and cabanas were the highlight. I loved the pools. They have so many. And twice the size of Olympic pools. Rooms are great. Though I upgraded to ocean pearl and they show the open deep bathtub with rose petals in it. But the hotel didn't have any bath salts or bubble bath or anything. The best they could offer was extra shower gel?!?! That's why they don't get a 5 on that.

The worst experience in this hotel and stay. I am currently staying in the hotel for another night and can’t wait to leave and never come back. I checked in yesterday afternoon I noticed the front desk staff not very friendly upon checking in. The staff at the bar also were a little arrogant and not hospitable or welcoming. Not enough smiles or people forgetting to be courteous and friendly to others. My room was not very clean. I noticed the toilet was used with lid up and someone had done their business prior to my arrival. There was also long strand black hair in my bathroom and in general everywhere throughout the room. I couldn’t sit on the in room sofa it is not usable or comfortable as I’m worried I could just fall straight through the seat. The following morning (this morning 7:30) I was extremely shocked to know there are no automatic coffee machines to enjoy and make my own coffee they used dirty smelly stale black drip filter coffee completely undrinkable. In 2026 for supposedly a luxurious hotel they can’t afford coffee machines in this day and age come on really?? not every one first thing in the morning wants to converse with staff begging them for a proper espresso. The hotel is too far to go anywhere to buy a coffee. I’m truly disappointed with my first time experience in this hotel I will never come back nor do I recommend this toilet of a filthy place it’s rudeness and arrogance is just unbelievable I’ve had no joy just heartache pain and misery. The breakfast was disgusting they can’t even make proper scrambled eggs. Mine were dry rubbery there were no hash browns the watermelon was from the previous day soggy and uneatable. The only thing going for this place is their swimming pool but that’s about it nothing more. If management is currently reading this review good and also looking forward to speaking to General Manager or owner as your restaurant manager also showing no interest with my breakfast complaints this morning she laughed as it was a joke if I was her boss she would fired on the spot. I couldn’t even order a drink by the pool yesterday there was also no menu for food or drink I sat there feeling dehydrated and thirsty looking for a bottle of water. This is not the service I want from an overpriced hotel that really offer nothing. Don’t stay here there are better places that come with service smiles and proper coffee machines for the morning. Shocking hotel!!!
