Koh Samui Tower

4.3(118 reviews)

Perched on a hill in the Mae Nam district of Koh Samui, this seven-storey tower hotel offers an unusual vantage point that sets it apart from beach-level accommodation on the island. With no buildings obstructing the view above it, guests on upper floors enjoy uninterrupted panoramas across both the sea and surrounding jungle, along with the natural breezes that come with the elevation. A on-site restaurant adds convenience for those who prefer to stay close to the property.

The atmosphere leans toward the warm and personal, with repeat visitors citing a family-like quality to the service. Staff members are frequently highlighted in reviews as professional, welcoming, and attentive, which appears to be a defining feature of the guest experience here. Room quality and maintenance standards vary according to some accounts, so requesting an upper-floor room is worth considering when booking to make the most of the views and airflow.

Mae Nam sits on the quieter northern coast of Koh Samui, making this a practical base for travellers who prefer a more relaxed pace over the busier southern and eastern resort zones, while still having access to the island's wider attractions. Booking directly through the property's website may offer more flexibility on rates and special requests than third-party platforms. High season runs from November to February, when advance reservations are strongly recommended.

Excellent 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I recently had the pleasure of staying at the best hotel in Koh Samui, and I can't say enough good things about it! The views are absolutely stunning, and the spacious rooms made my stay so comfortable. The food was delicious, and the friendly staff really added to the lovely vibe. The highlight for me was the Sky Lounge—oh my, the rooftop views are nothing short of paradise! I highly recommend this hotel; it truly is perfect in every way. If you're planning a trip to Koh Samui, make sure to stay here for an unforgettable holiday. A huge thank you to the entire team for making my stay so memorable! ♥️♥️♥️🙏

This hotel literally has the best view of the island. Its placed on top of a hill and it has 7 stories. There is no other building above your eyeline. The service is perfect and the restaurant is open to cook fresh meals for you almost all day. My only downside was that my room was at the side of the sunrise so it was light early. But thats something you have to sacrifice for the great view and no shadows!

Stay summary: One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The hotel is very old and poorly maintained, with issues in every aspect. Room: We were given a ground-floor room with windows facing the busy corridor. The curtains had to remain closed, but the lighting was insufficient. There was a strong musty odor throughout the room, and the wardrobe was unusable due to an intense stench. Only one bedside table was present, and there was no electrical socket on the other side of the bed. Bathroom: Extremely poorly maintained. The sink initially had only scalding hot water; the faucet aerator was clogged with limescale. The shower pressure was minimal, and the rain shower was heavily clogged. The toilet leaked, required prolonged flushing, and the bidet shower pressure was uncomfortably high. Hot water was almost unavailable, and overall hygiene was unacceptable. Cleaning: Rooms were cleaned every two days at most. Towels, trash, and bed linen were inadequately managed. Often, we had to request replacements multiple times, and even then service was incomplete. Restaurant: Poolside breakfast was slow, overpriced, and low quality. Coffee and food were below average, and service took 45 minutes for a meal in an empty restaurant. Management: Staff were largely absent or unhelpful. Maintenance requests were ignored. The owner was mostly disengaged. Rented scooters were moved without notice. Summary: The hotel is advertised as 4-star but fails on basic standards. Location is good, but the hotel itself is comparable to low-end accommodation. I strongly do not recommend Koh Samui Tower. Avoid this place entirely.

Book Shoulder Season

May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.

Compare OTAs and Direct Rates

Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.

Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive

Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
