Hua Hin Star Hotel
Compare prices
Hua Hin Star Hotel is a no-frills budget hotel situated just steps from the beach in Hua Hin, making it a practical base for travellers who want easy coastal access without a premium price tag. The hotel sits on a quiet side street roughly 50 to 100 metres from the water, and guests consistently highlight the generous room sizes and large balconies as standout features for the price point. An outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi, and reliable air conditioning round out the core amenities, and the property maintains a reputation for cleanliness that punches above its budget category. The surrounding area offers a relaxed atmosphere, with a handful of restaurants on the same street and a shopping mall reachable within a short walk or drive. Rooms are straightforward and functional rather than stylish, reflecting the hotel's down-to-earth character, but the combination of space, location, and value makes it a competitive option among Hua Hin's budget accommodation. Good to know: breakfast hours run from 06:00 to 10:30 daily, so early risers heading to the beach can fuel up before setting out. As with many smaller independent hotels, service quality can vary, so reading recent reviews before booking is worthwhile to get a current picture of the guest experience.

Very good hotel. An older hotel but everything worked fine. Exceptionally clean. Super clean for a hotel of this age. Bed and mattress comfortable. Walk to beach. Hotel shares swimming pool with other hotels and guesthouses on the same little street. Swimming pool basic, only concrete seating but is clean and good for a nice dip. At this price the pool is a complete bonus. I used Bolt App to get taxis around town very cheap. Would happily stay here again.
Very nice and clean budget hotel. The rooms are huge with large balconies. The location is sensational, just a few meters from the beach. The internet and air conditioning are very good. But the best thing is the staff. They are always very friendly and helpful. Thank you for the great stay and all your help. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Hua Hin! Highly recommended*****
This is a good budget hotel, just one lane back from the beach. We had a large room with a balcony, which was great value. The room was large, as was the balcony. The bathroom was clean and functional. The little street that the hotel is situated in is very quiet, with many options for breakfast or a meal. My one warning is to not transfer money to the 'hotel' to pay your deposit. We did, and we sent several emails, without ever getting an acknowledgement. It turns out that the hotel and the owner's bank account are completely different, so we had trouble whilst we were there trying to prove that we had paid the deposit. My advice is to use one of the popular booking websites, or to pay in cash on arrival.

Tips for Visiting Hotels & Resorts
Book Shoulder Season
May–June and September–October offer dramatic discounts (30–50% off peak rates) with fewer crowds. Weather is mixed but rarely a washout — afternoon showers clear quickly.
Compare OTAs and Direct Rates
Always check the hotel's own website after finding a rate on Agoda or Booking.com. Many Thai properties offer a best-rate guarantee or throw in perks like free breakfast when you book direct.
Pool Villa Doesn't Mean Expensive
Private pool villas in Krabi, Hua Hin, and Chiang Mai start around 2,500–4,000 THB/night — a fraction of Bali or Maldives prices. Search specifically for 'pool villa' to surface hidden gems.
