Why go, and how to do it well
Klong Jark sits on Koh Yao Noi's east coast between Pasai to the south and Tha Khao to the north, about 1.5 km of sand looking out at the karst islands of Phang Nga Bay. It's quieter than Pasai and the resorts along this stretch, Cape Kudu and Koyao Island Resort among them, keep the development low and green.
The swim is best at high tide. At low tide the sea retreats over a wide shallow flat, which is pretty to walk but useless for swimming, so I'd check the tide before heading down with a towel. The south end has restaurants on the sand, Pyramid Restaurant among them, which makes it an easy place to spend a late lunch waiting for the water to come back.

Tips for Visiting Beaches
Go Early for Empty Sand
Even the busiest beaches are nearly deserted before 9 AM. Sunrise walks on Kata, Chaweng, or Railay are magical — and you'll beat the heat for a morning swim.
Use Reef-Safe Sunscreen
Many Thai marine parks ban chemical sunscreens that damage coral. Bring reef-safe (mineral/zinc-based) sunscreen from home — it's harder to find and pricier in Thailand.
Explore Beyond the Main Strip
Every popular beach area has quieter alternatives nearby. Rent a scooter and ride 10 minutes from Patong to find Freedom Beach, or head to Phuket's northeast coast for nearly empty shores.
