Taling Ngam Beach

The southwest coast is the Samui most visitors never see, and this is its flagship beach, a long, quiet stretch of village shoreline with shallow water, fishing boats, and sunset views out to the Five Islands that end the day better than anywhere on the east coast. There's little to do here, in the best way — a few resorts, some seafood shacks, palms leaning over the sand. Swimming depends on the tide and the shore stays local rather than groomed, which is exactly the trade. You come for space, silence, and the island's best sunset, not for beach clubs and jet skis.
