Why go, and how to do it well
Come here to do very little. The coconut palms that give the beach its name shade a long stretch of soft white sand, and the mood is far quieter than the busier stretches of coast further south. If your idea of a good day is a lounger, a book and the sea a few steps away, this is your kind of place.
There's no resort machinery to speak of. Sun loungers can be rented, and simple eateries and beach bars handle the cold drinks and food side of things. That's about the extent of it, which is precisely why people like it. The water is calm and fairly sheltered in the right season, so a proper swim is on the cards rather than a nervous paddle. Sunset is when the palm-fringed backdrop earns its keep.
