Air Bar Samui
Perched atop the InterContinental Koh Samui resort in Taling Ngam, Air Bar is an open-air rooftop venue that draws visitors for its sweeping views across the island and surrounding sea. The elevated setting makes it a popular choice for watching the sunset, and the combination of a relaxed yet refined atmosphere with live entertainment — including saxophone performances on select evenings — gives it a character that stands apart from typical resort bars. Guests can expect professionally crafted cocktails alongside food service in a setting that reflects InterContinental's hospitality standards. The atmosphere is described by visitors as both breathtaking and deeply relaxing, equally suited to a quiet evening out or a more celebratory occasion. Pricing sits in line with other upscale venues on the island, with drinks noted in the higher range — something worth factoring in for those planning a longer stay. Air Bar opens daily from 5:00 PM through to 11:00 PM, with no off days, making it consistently accessible throughout the week. Arriving around 5:30 PM is a practical choice for those wanting to secure a good position before sunset, which typically falls between 6:00 and 6:30 PM depending on the season. Non-resort guests are welcome to visit, though booking ahead via samui.intercontinental.com/air-bar is advisable, particularly on weekends, to confirm table availability and any access requirements.

The view from the Air Bar is absolutely stunning, truly breathtaking and unforgettable. The ambience is perfect for a relaxing evening or a special night out. What made the experience even better was the staff: incredibly friendly, respectful, kind, and attentive especially film she’s a gem of heart 💓☺️. Their warm hospitality added so much to the overall vibe. Highly recommended!
A stunning and spectacular rooftop, perfect for an evening watching the sunset. The view is breathtaking, and the atmosphere is exceptional. Prices are similar to other exclusive venues, with drinks starting at 250 THB. At the bottom of the hotel, golf carts are available to take guests up, as the hotel and rooftop are located on a high hill. Highly recommended!

Tips for Visiting Restaurants & Food
Learn the Spice Scale
Say 'mai pet' for no spice, 'pet nit noi' for a little spice, or 'pet mak' if you want it Thai-hot. Most cooks will default to a toned-down version for foreigners unless you specify otherwise.
Follow the Crowds
The busiest street stalls are almost always the best — high turnover means fresh ingredients and a recipe that locals vouch for. An empty restaurant at dinner time is a red flag.
Ice Is Safe
Factory-made tube or cylinder ice (used in virtually all restaurants and stalls) is made from purified water and is safe to consume. You don't need to skip the iced Thai tea.
