organic thai cooking school
Nestled in the Rawai district of Phuket, this intimate cooking school offers visitors the chance to learn authentic Thai cuisine in an outdoor kitchen setting at the home of instructor Eing. Classes are structured around hands-on participation, with students guided through the preparation of multiple dishes using fresh, organic ingredients. A garden walk is included, giving participants a closer look at the herbs and produce used throughout the session. Classes are small in scale and can be tailored to the dishes participants most want to learn, making the experience feel personal rather than formulaic. Visitors cook their meals together and then sit down to eat them in the garden, with generous portions often leaving enough for a take-home meal. Previous participants have noted that Eing shares practical cooking techniques and flavour-building tricks that go beyond standard recipes, making the knowledge genuinely transferable to a home kitchen. Classes run seven days a week from 10:30 to 16:30, giving travellers a flexible half-day activity that fits easily around other plans. Booking in advance is advisable given the intimate class format, and visitors can check available course options and make arrangements through the school's website at organicthaicooking.com. Comfortable, casual clothing suitable for an outdoor cooking environment is recommended, particularly during Phuket's warmer months.

Visitor Reviews
Highly recommend coming and spending an afternoon with Eing learning how to cook classic Thai dishes at the outside kitchen at her home. We loved that we were able to tailor the class to dishes we wanted to learn and as they only have 2-4 people per class we were able to complete all dishes as vegetarian. We left full, happy and ready to replicate when we get home. Eing husband Roger also came and picked us up and drop us back after taking us to a local market. Thanks for a great day.
Cooking with Eing in her outdoor kitchen was a fun and authentic experience. We made three dishes (Course 7) and then ate them in her garden—and had more than enough leftover to take home for dinner! The ingredients were fresh (many from her garden), the instruction was clear, and the final product was delicious. We would love to come back and try another course. But for now, Roger just sent us the recipes, so we will have to try them at home!
Had a great afternoon of learning to cook thai food with Eing. Eing was a great teacher and we learned lots of tricks to cook delicious homemade Thai food that I otherwise wouldn’t have thought about! We were picked up from our hotel by Roger and brought to their lovely home where there were plentiful amounts of organic vegetables and herbs growing. Recommend this class to anyone looking to further their cooking skills!

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
