Karon Viewpoint Phuket

4.6(14,087 reviews)

Perched on a hillside in southern Phuket, this well-regarded viewpoint delivers one of the island's most celebrated vistas — a sweeping panorama that takes in Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon beaches simultaneously, framed by the deep blue of the Andaman Sea and rolling green hills. On a clear day, the scene is genuinely striking, and it remains one of the few spots in Phuket where multiple beaches can be appreciated from a single vantage point. The site is tiered across several levels, giving visitors with varying mobility the option to stop at different platforms depending on how far they wish to climb. There are plenty of spots for photography, and the atmosphere, while busy with tourists, stops short of feeling overwhelming. Vendors and small stalls are present, but it is still possible to find a quiet corner to simply sit and take in the view. On the distant hillside, the large white Big Buddha statue is also visible, adding another point of interest to the panorama. Arriving by motorbike or scooter is recommended by visitors, as getting a return taxi or ride from the viewpoint can involve a wait. The site is open around the clock, making early morning or late afternoon visits a practical choice for softer light and thinner crowds. There is no entrance fee and no website, so no advance planning is required — it is simply a matter of getting there.

Visitor Reviews

Karon View Point is one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Phuket and definitely worth a visit. From here, you get a breathtaking panoramic view of three beaches at the same time Kata Noi, Kata Beach, and Karon Beach. The contrast of turquoise water, green hills, and the coastline looks absolutely stunning. The viewpoint is well maintained, clean, and has enough space to comfortably enjoy the view without feeling rushed. It’s an excellent spot for photography, whether you’re clicking pictures on your phone or carrying a proper camera. Sunset time is especially magical, with golden hues reflecting on the sea and creating a perfect postcard-like view. Parking is easily available nearby, and you don’t need to walk much to reach the main viewing area, which makes it suitable for families, elderly visitors, and even quick stops during sightseeing. There are also small seating areas where you can relax for a few minutes and just enjoy the scenery. It can get slightly crowded during peak hours, especially in the evening, but the view makes it completely worth it. Overall, it’s a peaceful, scenic place that truly shows the natural beauty of Phuket. Highly recommended for first-time visitors, nature lovers, and anyone looking to capture stunning views of Phuket. 🌅📸

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide

These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
