Why go, and how to do it well

You go here for one thing: to sit next to a tiger and have someone photograph it. Sessions are split by animal size, from cubs up to the giants, and reviewers who paid extra for the medium tigers say even those are startlingly powerful up close. Staff run the safety briefing, keep things moving, and a photographer with a DSLR shoots the whole thing. Expect to wait 15 to 20 minutes before your slot opens up.

The safari car ride through the tiger garden divides people. It's short, roughly 15 to 30 minutes depending who you ask, and mostly involves adult tigers dozing in water basins under the planting. Some found it peaceful. Others said skip it and put the money into a second petting session. I'd lean towards the latter.

Worth being straight about the rest. Guests report no signs of sedation and tigers that still have claws and teeth, but they also say the cages are small. If captive wildlife sits badly with you, this isn't your morning out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Tiger Park Pattaya. I booked a small tiger with photography and also a safari tour- we weren’t disappointed. We had 2 photographers during our session (my husband and myself) and we were able to pat, stoke and enjoy time with the tiger. As the next session group hadn’t arrived, we were asked if we would like to visit with another tiger - of course we said yes !! So we were lucky enough to have extra time with a second tiger. The safari tour was good, you are in a safe and secure golf cart driving though the tigers enclosures where you can see them just relaxing and enjoying some fresh grass and natural surroundings. Other pens and holding pens are quite small and concrete only, which is sad to see that not all tigers have the same space and room to move. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here, and my husband loved the iced coffee from the cafe !!

Absolutely beautiful tigers! Lots of personal photo opportunities alongside being able to give them a pat and hug. The staff were very friendly and made us feel safe and took care of us very well. There were no signs of sedation as they walked around and were active, and they weren’t declawed or defanged. They were treated well by the staff. The cages are quite small for them however.

It’s a fairly small habitat. We paid extra to pet the medium tigers, there were two. One slept the entire time, while the other was very young and full of energy, which made the experience enjoyable. We also did the safari tour, which lasts about 30 minutes, but it mostly involved seeing adult tigers laying around and sleeping. The tiger petting was worth it, but I would skip the safari tour. FYI you can buy the tickets there we paid 1750 baht approximately $57. We took a grab from Pattaya for about 179 baht approximately $6.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.

Check Operator Safety Records

For adventure activities (zip-lining, bungee jumping, diving), check recent reviews specifically mentioning equipment condition and safety briefings. Thailand's regulation varies — reputable operators will have insurance and certified guides.
