Sora Sierra – Sky Above Samui
Perched above the western side of Koh Samui near the Ang Thong district, Sora Sierra – Sky Above Samui is a hilltop café and scenic destination that combines sweeping panoramic views of the island's coastline with a full food and drinks menu. The elevated setting delivers unobstructed vistas that shift dramatically throughout the day, making it equally popular for leisurely breakfasts, afternoon coffees, and sunset cocktails. The menu spans authentic Thai dishes — available at genuine Thai spice levels for those who want them — alongside brunch-style options, smoothies, and cocktails. Visitors consistently highlight the quality and presentation of the food as a genuine draw in its own right, not merely a backdrop to the scenery. The atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried, with the kind of setting that encourages guests to linger as the light changes over the water below. Good to know: The approach road can be challenging depending on your direction of travel. Visitors arriving by motorbike are advised to approach from the Lipa Noi or Nathon side rather than through the jungle road from Mae Nam. Opening hours and pricing are not listed online, so contacting the venue directly or checking their social media before visiting is recommended. Sunset is an especially popular time, so arriving early to secure a good spot is advisable during peak season.

Visitor Reviews
What an absolute standout space on this beautiful island. The views are simply unreal, panoramic, calm, and the kind that make you want to stay for hours as the sky changes. The food is outstanding, beautifully done without being pretentious, and every dish we tried hit the mark, both Thai & western available. Drinks were just as impressive, well-crafted, balanced, and perfect for the setting. Speciality coffees, smoothies & cocktails. Let’s talk about the service, warm, attentive, and genuinely relaxed. There’s a very laid-back vibe throughout, where everything feels effortless but still polished. A must-visit in Samui if you appreciate great views, excellent food and drinks, and a place that truly understands atmosphere. We’ll be back for sure!
Here you’ll find delicious food paired with an incredible view. If you’re craving authentic Thai dishes with true Thai-level spice, you can find it here. Prefer something milder or more brunch-style? They offer plenty of non-spicy, approachable options as well. They also serve incredible smoothies which are perfect for curing a hungover morning. Make sure to visit during the daytime to fully enjoy the stunning view. Highly recommended!
The view is beautiful, but the food and drinks are even better! Generous portions and great quality. We also had some of the best coffee and smoothies on the island. The dishes were beautifully presented and tasted just as good as they looked. Definitely one of the spots in Samui where you get both a stunning setting and genuinely good food and drinks. Would happily come back again.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours
Vet Elephant Sanctuaries
Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.
Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide
These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.
Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning
Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
