Naphat Tour Pig Island Koh Mat Sum and Snorkeling

3.6(227 reviews)

Pig Island is the hook here, and the day works roughly like this: a car collects you from your hotel, drives you to the pier, and a boat takes you out to Koh Mat Sum, where dozens of pigs of all sizes wander the sand. There's a 50 baht fee on arrival. Rap Island gets the warmest words from people who've done the trip, a small, clean spot with a beach bar, and it's the stop I'd make sure is on your itinerary. Snorkelling is part of the deal, though visibility depends entirely on the sea that day and some people have come back distinctly unimpressed.

The staff draw a lot of praise for being friendly. The money side is where things go wrong. Reviewers have reported being quoted around 1,000 THB for a shared boat and 1,500 for a private one, then ending up in a group anyway, with the conversation turning unpleasant. Quoted prices have run up to 2,500 THB.

Reviews from Google

The staff is amazing. Very kind. You have to visit Rap Island. Small island, very beautiful, clean, with bar. We had awesome trip with them. Thank you and hope we see you again 🙏🙏🙏

Great day out on the water and to see Pig Island. We were picked up at our hotel by a car, driven to the Pier, then rode the boat to pig island first. Important to know, you WILL get very wet on the boat, so dress accordingly, but that was part of the fun. Recommend glasses to keep water out of your eyes. Pig island is full of dozens of cute pigs of all sizes. You have to pay 50 baht upon arrival but this is listed in activity details. We then summoned the boat (you can take as long as you choose on pig island) to go to the Koh Tam swimming spot. I give 4 stars because the Koh Tam swim spot was pretty small and had a great deal of litter on the shore, but the water was nice. We were unable to snorkel because it had rained recently, but obviously this is outside their control. We then took the boat home. Overall I recommend as a fun day out of the hotel on Koh Samui but I wish I know about the wet boat ride and had a cleaner swim spot.

Awful experience trying to book a private long tail boat to pig island. We were initially quoted 1500 for a private boat to pig island and to be picked up at any time or 1000 to go with another couple and be picked up at the same time as them. We agreed on the 1500 to allow for flexibility however after handing our money over we were told we were going as a group anyway. This did not bother us but we questioned why the price was not 1000, following this the owner became increasingly aggressive towards myself and my partner and told us to swim there ourselves and then inject ourselves with heroin and drown. We simply walked away and got our money back. Do not book with this tour group they blatantly lie and when questioned on these lies they then become very aggressive and nasty.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Popular Activities Online

Booking platforms like GetYourGuide give you instant confirmation and, on many activities, free cancellation — and you can read recent reviews before committing. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
