Pong Yang Jungle Coaster & Zipline

4.4(7,226 reviews)

Nestled in the lush mountains of Mae Rim, about an hour from central Chiang Mai, Pong Yang Jungle Coaster & Zipline is an outdoor adventure park that draws families, thrill-seekers, and nature lovers alike. The headline attraction is a gravity-driven jungle coaster that winds through dense forest, complemented by a multi-station zipline circuit, tube slides, and additional activities including a butterfly experience and VR options. The setting — surrounded by hills and greenery — adds genuine atmosphere beyond the rides themselves. Families with children report that the jungle coaster and ziplines are clear crowd favourites, while younger kids tend to enjoy the butterfly attraction. The park is well-managed with free lockers available on a deposit basis, and the zipline course spans 14 stations, giving participants a substantial experience rather than a brief run. The drive out from Chiang Mai also passes through scenic countryside with cafes and local market stalls worth noting for the return journey. A few practical points for visitors: wear closed-toe shoes, particularly sneakers, as these are required for the zipline. The park opens at 08:30 daily and closes at 17:00, so arriving early helps avoid crowds and leaves time for multiple activities. Booking tickets in advance through third-party platforms can offer savings on the standard entry price. As the location is remote, travellers without their own transport are advised to arrange a package that includes a transfer from the city.

Visitor Reviews

Our visit to Pong Yang Jungle Coaster & Zipline in Mon Jam was truly a five-star experience from start to finish. Located in the lush mountains near Chiang Mai, this attraction offers an excellent balance of adventure, relaxation, and natural beauty, making it suitable for families, couples, and groups of friends. One of the biggest highlights is the wide variety of activities available. There are multiple jungle coasters and zipline courses, each providing a unique perspective of the surrounding forest. The coasters are thrilling yet safe, while the ziplines allow you to enjoy breathtaking views as you glide over trees and streams. Staff members are professional, attentive, and clearly focused on safety, which made the entire experience comfortable and enjoyable. The facilities are very well maintained. Toilets are clean, modern, and easily accessible—something that is often overlooked at outdoor attractions. There are also several good restaurants offering tasty meals at reasonable prices, making it convenient to spend the whole day on-site without worrying about food. Another standout feature is the beautiful coffee shop at ground level. It has a calm, pleasant atmosphere and is an ideal place to relax after activities while enjoying the scenery. Additionally, visitors can play in the natural stream and visit a small but beautiful waterfall, which adds a refreshing and peaceful element to the adventure. Parking is spacious with many available spots. There is a small parking fee of 30 baht, which is very reasonable given the overall quality of the facilities. Overall, this destination delivers excellent value, memorable experiences, and a wonderful natural setting. Highly recommended for anyone visiting northern Thailand.

The place is quite far from the central chiang mai city. Suggestion is to get a package with transport (if you are foreign tourist). Along the way, can see a lot of nice cafe and lots of a simple stall that allows you to dip your feet into the river while enjoying your drinks and meal. We didnt do thay because of the included transport is direct to and fro from your hotel in the city. We bought the package B from klook. Selected the 9am slot. You will reached there around 10am and leave the place at 12pm. Arrived back to your hotel in the city around 1pm+. Yes, it is enough of time to do every activities in the package within 2 hours. Once you arrived, the driver will bring you to the registration counter to fill in your name and d.o.b. Pay THB100 deposit for a locker (get it back later). Just follow their instructions and move accordingly. The activities are quite mild, it is suitable for everyone. The package comes with a lunch OR coffee. We chose lunch. You will probably finished all your activities around 11.15 to 11.20am. Left you around 30 to 45 mins to have your lunch at the restaurant behind the counter. The menu is individual thai set meal. Select one. Drinks not included. Drinking water is FoC. The rest are chargeable. P/S : the same driver drive the same route multiple times a day. He knows the road very well, hence he drive quite fast, the van can be quite uncomfortable if you were seated at the last row. My advise is dont sit in the last row.

For the Zipline... Wear sneakers. They have free lockers; you just pay a deposit. I bought the 14-station Zipline ticket from Trip.com for 7xx Baht per person, and I paid an extra 200 Baht for the Jungle Coaster and 200 Baht for the FlyLine. Just 3 activities were enough for 4.5 hours at my age 🤣. The food was reasonably priced. The coffee... it was OK. I paid 150 Baht for the staff to take photos—much better than bringing my mobile with me while playing.

Tips for Visiting Activities & Tours

Vet Elephant Sanctuaries

Only visit sanctuaries that prohibit riding, use no chains or bullhooks, and let elephants roam freely. Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai set the standard. If a place offers painting shows or circus tricks, walk away.

Book Through Klook or GetYourGuide

These platforms offer instant confirmation, free cancellation on most activities, and prices that are often lower than walk-up rates. Compare with local agencies for multi-day trips where negotiation might save more.

Do Outdoor Activities in the Morning

Heat and humidity peak from noon to 3 PM. Schedule jungle treks, cycling tours, and outdoor cooking classes for early morning. Water activities are more flexible since you're in and out of the sea.
